Inspired by tragic events in his life the past two years, it's a raw, often gritty look at loss, mortality, and life on the road all built around Sweany's deep, soulful baritone. Close To The Floorb was engineered and produced by Joe McMahan (Luella & The Sun, Webb Wilder), and features members of Lambchop, Levon Helm's band, and Justin Townes Earle's band. Also available in a deluxe LP version pressed on 150gram vinyl from Direct Metal Masters, including Lossless downloads and one bonus track.

If you've never tried Patrick Sweany you're missing one of the most talented artists of this generation. He sounds like nobody else n music, which alone is saying something. But Patrick's music is powerful because of his originality, talent, and he's awesome to see live. Every CD is a force unto itself. Buy all of them! Start with " I Wanna Tell You" all the way through to his newest "Close To The Floor". You will not be disappointed with any of them. Clearly one of the BEST artists toay.

This chap is new to me, it is a gritty and powerful album if you like Americana with a nod to the Blues.
