These are tall and sturdy, and as pretty as they look in the photo, and they have enough "heft" to hold the books up. They also look quite sharp on the top of a bookcase I have, with all the lovely books in between. Highly recommended for cat lovers and book lovers.

Overall, these bookends are nice. I made the mistake of putting them on a desktop with books on either end, rather than within a bookcase. Somehow, one bookend fell off about 4 feet onto carpet and broke. (I know it's made of resin, but don't know how a short fall onto deep carpet could break a piece.) I was able to use superglue to repair the ear somewhat, but I'm worried to use them again should they slip and break. An anti-skid bottom to the bookend would be nice, and I really can't decide if they're appropriately heavy/sturdy or too light for this purpose. So 4/5 due to visual appeal but suboptimal sturdiness.
