I gave 5 stars because they were exactly what I was looking for. I find these are the only pencils that are comfortable and they don’t cause me a headache with broken lead. So far, only being 2 pencils in both sharpened fantastically and the 1st pencil lasted sooo long. It also had no broken lead through the entirety of the pencil’s use. I was not impressed with the shipping though the package they came in was ripped open(literally looked like someone tore into them) and the pencils were all over inside the Amazon envelope. Not a huge deal for me because I was ordering them for myself but if I was ordering them to add to a gift I wouldn’t have been too happy.

I've had pencils in the past. The kind of pencils that make you want to shred them in a blender and throw them in a firepit just to watch them burn. These are not that kind of pencil. These pencils work. They feel like they were crafted with good materials and they are able to be sharpened without the lead breaking off into the sharpener causing that perpetual pointing, the continuous grinding, the strenuous sharpening, the never ending endeavor of stripping tiny flakes of wood-like glue mash off from around a thin cylinder of what wants to be lead never able to achieve your goal because it breaks the moment you stop honing your prize. You all know those pencils that do that. You hate them just as much as I do. These Dixon's are a good pencil. Buy two packs and get writing, so you can experience the pain in your hand and arm that you haven't felt since you were in grade-schooler and you go back to your touch screen device.

at last i found it! the wood pencil of my yesteryear. writes like i use to. don't break when you ut some pressure on it .all depends on how sharp it is. still i buy more of these has a like to draw with them. i 'm doing sketches for my kids comic book before taking them to a printer.

When I got these pencils they were rock hard and the eraser did not work. After leaving them in a drawer for a month the eraser softened. Then pencil itself is as expected. Does not break easily and is easy to sharpen.

its seems like they have been dropped a million times. The lead breaks off while sharping
