This is one of those toys that is fun for both children and adults. The box came with the domino train, a lot of dominos, and two cartridges.Once loaded, the cartridges click into the train, which lays them out after a set distance. The cartridges are easy to load but can be error-prone. My 3-year-old learned to load the cartridges after a few tries, but sometimes the bricks didn't want to cooperate, necessitating an adult's help.The train lays the bricks after a set distance, and it is a lot of fun to topple the dominos to create a chain reaction. I wish the cartridges were easier to load and that the bricks didn't jam in the cartridges or the train as often as they did. I definitely missed the sound of real dominos (the ones included in this set are light, plastic dominos), but that is just me. My kids loved playing with this domino train and can't get enough.

We've ordered domino trains for our kids in the past -- and have received them as gifts -- but none of them ever seemed to get it quite right. I don't want to speak too soon, but so far everything with this gadget appears to be working excellently.Batteries are included so you and your kiddos can get started right out of the box, and inside you'll also find a generous number of dominoes to create rewarding patterns to knock down (whether circles, waves, or just straight lines).It is worth noting, however, that the supplied dominoes are plastic and smaller than a standard size wooden domino, which is unfortunate because we have a tonne of traditional dominoes and it would have been great if we could have made use of them with this toy. But alas...Your kids do need to be a little patient with loading & setting up the column/cartridge on the train, as it requires some patience with each attempt. In many ways it is like a delicious meal that takes you longer to cook than it does to actually eat it. So a child's enjoyment from this toy will largely depend on their personality and/or attention span in general.Still, this is a fantastic gift for a child's upcoming birthday, or just a perfect surprise for a rainy day indoors. It is reasonably priced given what is included in the box, and while the plastic design doesn't feel the most premium, it does at least function as described -- which can't be said about several other models that are available.
