How long should I charge my two way radio battery?
- As always, it depends on the type of battery. Ni-CAD, Ni-MH and Li-Ion all have different charging methods.
- Generally though, it should only take two hours on a rapid charger and 4-6 hours on a standard charger.
- When using for the first time, it is recommended that you charge overnight, that is, the charging time is about 12 hours. Some specialized chargers take longer, such as charger-conditioners.

What do I do with my old batteries?
You can dispose of any batteries at any RBRC affiliated store. The RBRC (Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation) has members in every major city in the United States. There is no charge to drop your batteries off there. Home Depot and Radio Shack are two of its predominant members.

Both batteries have taken an initial charge to 8.4V. Good fit. The batteries have gaskets for weather protection. Hope they last!

I originally gave these batteries a single star because they did not seem to hold a charge. The problem was that the internal radio's charger was not charging the batteries at all. I had only been operating the radio on the charge that came with the battery. Other batteries do get charged through the radio but these require an external charger. Once I started charging them in a docking station the batteries did indeed charge and worked all day.

Seems like good quality and build and fits like the factory supplied battery when new. Priced well as the fit.

One battery failed after a few months. I sent an email late Friday night to let them know. They sent me a proof a purchase request on Saturday. Monday morning I had an email stating two barteries are on their way here. I call that customer service.
