I did some reserach to find a way to sharp my hooks so I can re-use them for fishing. This tool won't do it. Maybe there is no way to sharp a dull hooks to its best shape any way.

When my grandpa passed away I was given his fishing tackle and it it was one of these files for sharpening hooksIt was amazing but all the identifying marks were worn off and finally found the file on AmazonI’ve owned 5-6 different files for sharpening hooks and this one is hands down the best

Great for sharpening your hook every once in awhile,a sharp hook can mean the difference between catching the big one or losing it.

This is the perfect sharpener for fish hooks. The channel grove makes it very easy and fast to touch up a hook while fishing or for sharpening new hooks to a razor point.

I have had one of these for about 15 years. I just bought another one to keep in my knife sheath. I have used it for knives, hooks, darts.. all kinds of things. It is very light. I'm sure if you are rough with it you could break it but so far I haven't. The new one was a bit of a loose fit into the lid but a small piece of magic tape fixed that.
