This is not a paid review. I bought this power conditioner with my own money.Read the following to know why.I bought this power conditioner in 2018 when I lived on the Oregon coast, where 2 things happen frequently. One, the local power in the area is considered very "dirty" (wild fluctuations) in the current). Why? IDK, but guessing could be old infrastructure combined with terrible terrain. Two, coastal weather (rainy & windy) and lots of rough storms. Add the dependable power outage from trees falling on the lines. I was not ready to sacrifice my new 65 inch OLED with 7.2 Onkyo-ELAC surround sound and dual BIC subwoofers to poor planning or being cheap.Today March 2023, I can say that this power conditioner is going strong!!! I have not lost a single piece of equipment yet. This will sound weird. Both my audio and video quality went up. Audio I can hear nuances in videos and recordings that never were there before. My wife (not an A/V person) notice improved sound and verbal clarity in her music.Video - I saw that black areas in the picture used to have a slight haze or tone distortion. Now the black areas are a truer black and no haze is observed. Now a better gradient for black colors.I tested this against my old Plasma TV and the power conditioner really cleaned up the black areas, and also sharpened the picture, contrast, and HDR programs has a distinctive upgrade in quality.I also have a hand in IT at work and suggested this product after a 2017 autumn storm destroyed a $2,000 server switch. Leading to 5 days of networking chaos. Since then we have not lost another piece of equipment in the server room due to power issues.I now hookup my own network equipment behind a power conditioner, including computer workstations and commercial printers. My background is Healthcare and IT for last 20 years.

Looks great. Build appears solid. Stats ideal. But only time will tell if it does its job. Can't see any reason it wouldn't. Alas, made in China.

I got (IMO) lucky last week when I saw the price drop on these to just under $170, so I ordered two - and I'm happy that I did. I've been using a for about 5.5 years in my home theater system, and I've had no issues at all with it. I was looking to get another one and saw that the price (understandably) had gone up since I bought mine, so I started seeing what else was out there. I wanted the features in the PST-8D (Advanced Level Power Conditioning, SMP, EVS, LiFT), which this has, and I liked this form factor and the number of outlets. I didn't care about the lights or voltage readout, but now that I have them, I like them.I was looking to get another Furman because my PST-8D is built like a tank and has remained dead silent for the years that I've owned it. I hate electrical buzzing, and I've purchased other decently pricey power strips/filters that have either buzzed right out of the box or developed a buzz over time. The PST-8D might eventually develop one, but so far, it's been great. I'm happy to say that both of the PL-PLUS C's that I ordered are also dead silent, as well as being built like tanks themselves. It's really great to be able to find quality products. While I don't want or need the rack mounting tabs, they don't stick out far enough to be a problem for me. This unit doesn't have any feet or tabs on the bottom side because it's designed for rack mounting, so I just put some on the bottom corners that have worked great so far.I've never really noticed any change in audio or video quality when using a power filter, but I want good surge protection and figure that the filtering won't hurt anything, so why not. I will say that I _might_ have noticed an improvement when I plugged my new headphone amp into the PL-PLUS C, but that might not have been real. It did sound a bit cleaner to me, though, and honestly is probably the best chance that I have of noticing a change because it's a good amp with good headphones. When listening to my home theater, I probably wouldn't be able to tell unless it was a dramatic change.Because of the orientation of the outlets (two slits side by side with the grounding hole underneath, just like in a wall socket), transformers that are designed to sit sideways so that two will fit in a wall socket will take up more room on this unit than I expected. I can only fit two of them in the region that is designed for three transformers. Brick-style transformers will work great on these, though. The knob that controls the front lights on one of my units is a bit scratchy when turned, which is a bummer, but no where near a deal breaker for me because I'll rarely touch it. I do wish that the voltage meter and front indicator lights could be dimmed or turned off, but I put some strips over the top to dim them to my liking (those strips are awesome, btw).I'm very pleased with these so far and glad that I got them.

Cut ground hum in half so better though I wonder if next model up could eliminate the hum completely.

I'm a part-time professional musician and I have a home recording studio. I was sitting in my studio last week after setting up my brand new KRK Rokit 8 studio monitors, turned them on, and seriously thought they were defective because there was an annoying hiss/buzzing sound. I had also noticed the same problem with my guitar and bass amps. I eventually learned that it was due to a vacuum machine running upstairs; it wasn't the monitors. After setting up this Furman power conditioner, I can have vacuum machines, washing machines, dishwashers, and outdoor work lights running in my house and my amps and monitors have no buzz. This thing is totally appropriate for musicians running lots of expensive gear from wall outlets or cheap power strips. One thing about this conditioner that you might not have gathered from the description: it only provides two sets of isolated power sources. The widely-spaced "wall wart" outlets are isolated from the other bank of plugs, but they are not all individually isolated from each other. The power rating on this thing is more than enough for me to power a couple of guitar amps at a gig, so I'm stoked to own it. Plus I have peace of mind running my new Britain 4.0 guitar amp, 003 rack, and Macbook Pro through it. That's a lot of expensive equipment, so I think this is worth it. I'm definitely happy that I bought it.Also, seriously, there's no need to get the digital ammeter. The LCD lights are cool on this thing and it measures the input voltage (not the output voltage), so it's not like you're going to see a bunch of cool changes every time you crank up your guitar amp; it's just a steady glow.
