There was a strong smell of rubber and the surface got worn out after a few washes. The rubber side turned really sticky and started cracking with fewer than 20 times of use. Won't recommend it.

This is a second mat I'm buying.I bought my first one about a year ago.It's slippery when your feet and palms are dry, but when you start sweating you have a great grip. Or you can just spay a bit of water on it. I use it as a cover for the mat in the studio and it works great thanks to the rubbery surface on its opposite side, which makes it stay in place.I put my first mat through laundry (washing and drying) every 2 weeks, though it is not recommended by the manufacturer. The mat is still in great shape after a year of use.It's too thin to use it on its own on hard floors, but it's perfect to use as a cover for regular foam mat.

Works so much better than plain microfiber towels. Occasionally have to adjust during class but for the most part stays in place.

I've been using this mat for almost two months now in hot yoga ans I I'll say this towel stays put when switching into poses.I will say and this tends to be a theme with Gaiam band towels is that they tend to be on the smaller side.I was also hoping that the fabric was a bit nicer such as stitched on the edges of the towel but it wasn't and kinda make me feel like it was just cut off of a roll of fabric .

This is a great yoga towel for hot yoga! I have a Jade Yoga Harmony Professional Yoga Mat (3/16"), which I highly recommend for quality, cushion, and comfort!) It is great yoga mat as far as gripping and feeling the yoga mat under you. I didn't want to lose that feeling and the Gaiam NO-Slip Yoga Towel is the closet I have come to achieving that!The surface is textured but soft and the underside has gripping material that grips to your yoga mat. It dries very quickly and does not bunch or slip around. Highly recommend over some other competitors! I have turquoise sea and violet colors.

After studying all the reviews available, I chose to try two mats (one with beads and this one). The one with beads doesn't suit me as the beads bother my hands but this one is superb. The hotter and sweatier you get, the better it works. I actually spray a little water on the hand area before starting vinyasa so I get the grip immediately. I wouldn't use it on its own as it is so thin but on top of my regular old yoga mat, it is fine. There are now 3 of us in my yoga class with this mat and we are all pleased with it.

Packs well, thin but has suction to stay in place. Skinny and long and does not weigh much to take with you

It's a nice color and folds up well, but it doesn't give great support, and it can slide around a bit on wood floors. That said, it's a TRAVEL MAT, so I probably shouldn't be expecting, like, Gaiam's latest 8" non-skid or similar. Worked quite well on the road in a hotel room w/ carpeting. Made me do yoga, so...success.

I work on the road so this mat is perfect because it folds into the corner of my bag. No bigger than a book. The rubber bottom allows me to practice in my hotel room without slipping. Cold water wash makes for easy maintenance.Smart buy for the traveler wanting to practice on the go!
