Apply to clean, dry surfaces in areas prone to slug and snail infestations. If desired, you can even nail Copper Stopper to wood surfaces for added security. PRECAUTIONS: Avoid leaving gaps in the tape, as these persistent pests may find their way through openings not protected. Ensure plants or objects do not bridge Copper Stopper, as slugs and snails can still cross. In areas enclosed by the Copper Stopper, slugs and snails may inadvertently get trapped. In such cases, consider hand removal or treatment using baits until the area is free of these nuisances. Always keep this product out of reach of children. The item arrived and was advertised, so no problems there. Doesn't seem to make much difference to the snails, however.

I'm not sure it's working at all. I saw slug tracks going over it several times when I first attached it around the rim of my raised garden bed. I went out at night with a flashlight and picked off all the slugs I could find several nights in a row after I first applied it. I stropped when I couldn't see anymore slugs. Then I covered the bed with a series of low hoop and plastic, so it's like a cold frame/greenhouse now. I applied ithis slug barrier in October, and in December while I was harvesting escarole I noticed a lot of little baby slugs around the greens. So I really can't tell if it's worked at all. Also, it's very thin and tears easily.

I knew I still had one snail (found it at night with a flashlight), so my lettuce had some holes. It’s possible that this tape has kept the rest at bay. I gave it 4 stars because I cut my finger open on it. Wear leather gloves when applying! The edges are sharp! Once it’s on, nothing to hurt you. Anyway, I bought a 2nd roll for another bin that gets too many rolly pollies (pill bugs). Fingers crossed.

My hostas were being eaten alive by slugs and/or snails, and this is a great barrier for keeping them away. It's pricy, but hey, it's copper, so that's to be expected. Apply while wearing gloves to protect your hands as this can be sharp around the edges.

I put a strip of tape around each of the pots holding the Meyer Lemon trees. I had more than enough length to do the 5 large pots. I used the tape remaining to protect some of my hostas. It is currently 105-degrees F. outside, so I have not seen a snail and do not expect to see one for quite some time. I do not know where they are, but they are smart enough to stay out of the intense heat.As such, I have not been able to test the effectiveness of this tape, but I expect it to work. From my research, snails die when they try to cross copper.Just wipe off the pots with a clean rag and some rubbing alcohol. Allow the pots to dry and then apply the tape. The hardest part is moving the pots so that you can work on them. Applying the tape is easy. This is a great non-toxic solution for humans and pets. I do not have to worry about my dog when using this tape like I would if I were using snail bait. This also keeps my garden organic. Snail bait would not. When the snails do make an appearance again, I fully expect this tape to do a great job in protecting my Meyer Lemon trees and my hostas. The snails are going to have to find a different garden to dine upon.
