I have a D750 where the GPS unit cable is plugged into the side of the camera. After just about ten photoshoots, I tried to put the camera back into my backpack bag and accidentally bent the cable, which broke off immediately. Sadly, this cable head wasn't durable and I would need a replacement.

This product does not work on my Nikon D4s. I consulted with several people before purchasing and they all agreed that it should work on my Nikon D4s. Unfortunately, it does not work. Perhaps I should ask Nikon Canada service. If it works on the Nikon D4, why not on the D4s?

The cable is a little short, another inch would be great. It draws power, enough to noticeably reduce the useful time, from an OEM Nikon in a Z8 battery

Edit: after contacted the seller. I got a replacement in a few days as the unit was still in warranty. So 5 star for the service. The replacement unit i received still has a loose connector. So it must be a common issue. I also noticed that other people had the same complaint as well. Hope the manufacturer can spend a few more cents to source a better usb port connector.Previous review:When I received it, I noticed usb connector was loose but it worked. After 10 month, it completely stop working.

While the unit does what it'd intended for, the damn cord keeps popping off. The fact that I need to tape it in place suggests poor design effort.

This product works great. The problem lies in the position of the “gps in” on the Nikon D7100 and others in that family. The camera strap hooks on the cable and breaks the connector. The is my second one.

Plug and go with my D600. I can see where the cord might get damaged from overflexing. GPS performance on par with a cell phone.

Used it with my Nikon D5000. Prior to purchase I was somewhat concerned being mounted on the hot shoe would block my camera's built in flip up flash cover from opening all the way, and it does. However, it came with a belt clip (previously not sure what that was from the product description and no picture), but it is a small plastic hot shoe mount that I can clip anywhere on my camera strap hence the GPS unit need not be mounted on the camera's hot shoe. I also used a small (1/2 inch diameter) cheap metal key ring to hold the USB cable to the strap so the cable sticking out of the camera to the GPS unit does not dangle. The GPS itself is fast (usually 15-30 seconds from camera power up), fairly accurate, and my camera's built-in GPS menu shows there is a GPS unit connected, displays the graphical satellite points detected and the GPS lat. and long. coordinates just fine. The GPS's own internal battery keeps the unit active for a while even after I power off the camera so GPS data is immediately available for my next camera power-up/shot without waiting. I like this unit.

Yes, it works! I had hesitated to buy this unit because there was some confusion as to what cameras it would work with. I wish I had gotten it sooner!First, the cameras I own: D500, D750, D7100, D5200Of these (and most Nikon models) there are two common connectors. (N1 and N3) This unit comes with cables to fit them both, the round 10 pin used on higher end cameras like the D5, D500, and more, and the rectangular connector used on the D750, D5200, D7100, etc. Rest assured, it does work on your D500 as I have tested it on all these cameras.Another point of confusion from the small number of questions and reviews here: Yes it comes with an adapter that clips onto your camera strap. AND, yes it comes with a wired remote control and be happy it does as its very useful. It will fire the shutter or can hold it open for a time exposure with a handy easy to use lock feature. Its included with the unit so its just a nice free bonus! As for how this thing will hold up in the long run I will say this: I don't know yet. The cables look about the same quality on other devices I have for my Nikon's so I can't complain at this price point. My experience has been that OEM Nikon accessories (which cost way way more) will be more rugged and last longer under heavy use as you would expect. That said, these aftermarket parts will last if cared for and not abused. If you are an amateur and take care of your gear I would not fear the quality. If you are a hard working pro who really beats his equipment around I would look at professional grade, higher dollar, gear. For the price I paid for this unit I am very well satisfied.Connections: Quick and easy. Plug it in, turn every thing on, go to the tools menu on your camera and make sure you have it set for "location data".Turn it on, a green light will blink as it searches. Once it finds its location the light will become a steady green. Its as simple as that. You can view your location on the camera's menu or take a photo and see the location and time it was shot on the data for the picture.GPS performance: First time I turned it on I was inside my house and it was taking some time to lock. I took it outside with an open sky and it quickly locked in. After the initial use it seems to lock on signals much better, even working inside my house. In doors it will lock on now in just a few seconds. I am very satisfied with its performance in this regard.I have no idea yet how it will hold up in the long run so I could only give it four stars for Durability. After some use I can come back and revisit this review with updated information. Meanwhile I regret not buying this sooner as it would have been a great help!I am a happy owner and really enjoy this unit! I just wish I had bought one sooner, especially at this price point.
