The thick, quality material protects the sensitive skin of the horse’s belly against injury from spurs. It allows a rider with a “busy” leg to use spurs when the situation requires it, without having to worry about causing pain to the horse. The spur protector has fur at the place where it closes on the underside on the horse’s belly, so that it can be comfortably closed under the saddle girth without chafing or causing pressure. Its elasticity ensures a secure fit without slipping. It can also be fixed to the billets on the girth by means of two hook-and-loop closures on each side. The girth is comfortable to wear, and can also be used as a protective cover for injuries, for example to prevent dirt from getting into the affected area. Because it acts as a second skin, it can be worn for longer periods of time in special cases. The girth’s material is thick enough to offer protection, yet thin enough that the horse will still feel the rider’s leg command. The perfect combination of function and protection.
