Ttakji Chigi (딱지치기) Game Rules
Ttakji Chigi is a traditional Korean game where players try to flip their opponent’s folded paper tile (ttakji) by striking it with their own. Here are the basic rules:
1. Players & Equipment The game is played by two or more players. Each player needs a ttakji, which is a folded paper tile.
2. How to Play Decide the Turn Order
Players decide who goes first, usually by playing rock-paper-scissors. Placing the Ttakji
One player places their ttakji flat on the ground. Striking the Ttakji
The other player throws or slaps their own ttakji onto the opponent’s, trying to flip it over. The player can use different techniques, like flicking or slamming, to generate more force. Winning the Round
If a player successfully flips the opponent’s ttakji, they win the round and may take the opponent’s ttakji as a prize. If the ttakji does not flip, the turn passes to the next player.
3. Winning the Game The game continues until one player wins a set number of rounds or collects the most ttakjis. In some variations, the player who loses all their ttakjis is eliminated. It’s a simple yet exciting game that requires both skill and strategy!
- Do not use the ttakji for any purpose other than playing the game.
- Keep Away From Fire.

Tried playing ddakji chigi for the first time, using the neomgyeomeokgi style shown on Squid Game. I thought I’d figure it out after a few tries. After multiple failed attempts, I looked up tips online. They say the trick is to hit the ddakji's center as hard as possible. Still didn’t work. My wife gave it a go too. After about multiple combined tries, we quit. The ddakji barely moved. At best, it slid a few inches. No flips, no lift. Just loud slaps and sore arms. Turns out the paper needs to be just the right thickness or it won’t flip at all. Since this is my first time of owning these cards I really have no idea if ours were made from the right type of paper. They also get pretty beat up fairly fast, bent corners and scrapes because of how hard you slap those cards down. Might be just me with lack of skill, but it wasn't fun or cool like it looks like on Squid Game.

This a good game for all ages. It is really cheap at less than $9.00. You get a lot for your money, my kids love to play all the time. This a new game they had never seen before and took to it right away. It looks like they will last a long time. They are just the right weight for the game, it makes it much easier to play.

As a huge Squid Game fan, I was so excited to try these out! So I tossed one on my (carpeted) bedroom floor and threw the other three at it, one at a time. Let me tell you, it’s impossible! These envelopes are not flat like I was picturing. They are flat on one side, but sort of bulging on the other. So they are a bit imbalanced. If you throw them straight down, they will not land in the exact spot you are aiming for. There’s some serious trial and error there. In fact, I’d say 9 times out of 10, I didn’t even hit the prone envelope.Ultimately, I got in one good hit and it flipped over. It was very exciting.Well made and sturdy. The fact that I’m an amateur doesn’t take away from the fact that this is a good product.Practice makes perfect. I’m getting pretty good at the dice game!

Yes, we got these because of the TV show Squid Game and yes, we are having a lot of fun trying to play it.If the object is to lose, not turn anything over and end up on the island, then we are all winners! This game is so HARD! We have not managed to flip them at all, they barely even move when we do hit them. I assume it’s just practice but who knows!
