Pretty disappointed with my first experience with this radio. Left it on charge overnight after it arrived. Turned it on this morning and the battery said it was at 100%. After less than a minute of operation the radio shut off and wouldn't turn back on until reconnected to the charger.

I bought this radio more than a year ago. I like how it feels, the battery lasts a good while, I will never ever use all the memory features. The radio is rugged enough to take some abuse, dust, dirt, water, being dropped. I fiddle around with setting it up with the usb cable and the downloaded software. The dedicated mic is very good, the accessory mic adapter is useful when I want to port audio to my PC. It is definitely more radio than I need.

well I was looking for a new radio and chatting to a few in the DMR space, I was told about the Ailunce HD1 radio so i grab it. it been a great radio easy to get going simple to operate i do have a few grips with it including almost impossible to read in the sunlight, and programming it can be a pain, but i found once i got the hang of setting up the radio works like a champ.

I had so much hope for this radio after watching a lot of reviews. I regularly use a TYT md380, a good radio but has some limitations even with an alternative firmware. So I was interested in Retevis Ailunce HD1, its quality, finish, robustness, IP67 certification and especially the ability to program it from the keyboard made it really attractive. Packaging was ok, radio feels good in hand, well made. But it is not the appearance of the radio that counts. The reception of the hd1 was an issue for me. For strong signals it is ok but for weaker signals the radio had trouble compared to the TYT md380. Another thing The HD1 receiver becomes desensitized easily, i could notice it by the lost of a strong nearby DMR repeater signal due to pager transmissions in my area whereas the TYT md380 didn't. This is usually what happens with direct conversion receivers, what is the case of the HD1. So i decided to send back the unit. Perhaps i had no chance and had a defective one. I feel just disappointed.
