I was not aware how thick the jaws are. each jaw is about 1/8" thick. This makes removing small cotter pins that are bent around a clevis pin difficult up by the pilot's rudder pedals. A thinner jaw will make room to reverse the bent cotter pin ends on both sides simultaneously then pull out the pin. Harder to do with these.

Great quality pliers! The teeth mate perfectly when fully closed and are quite sharp for outstanding grip. I believe Williams builds Snap-On's hand tools - these are identical except for the color of the cushioned handles. Last pair you'll ever need.

The pliers have a nice grip for hands. I purchased them for aviation lockwire and quickly switched to some nicer ones. This pair chews up the lockwire and does not close flush so one usually slips out. I give them three stars as they are good for other applications like just as a pair of pliers for holding and manipulating materials. However, I needed pliers for lockwire, these can't perform.

JH Williams is a Snap-on industrial brand. I bought these pliers to replace a pair of Snap-on pliers that I had for 18 years and used everyday in an industrial setting. These pliers are just as good if not better than the pair I lost, and they were half the price.
