KNIPEX’s Long Nose Pliers with Cutter offer elastic precision points and half round, long jaws with serrated gripping surfaces for the ultimate grip. The slim precision tips withstand high demands, particularly bending loads. With cutting edges that can cut medium hard wire up to 3.2 mm in diameter and hard wire up to a diameter of 2.2 mm. Cutting edges additionally induction hardened up to approximately 61 HRC. These are thinner than your average 8 inch needlenose which tend to be chunky and end in a moreblunt tip. The slim design is what I was looking for, I needed a pair to poke around in tight spaces and pick things up.That being said they're great for close up precision work too, though I imagine the 6 inch might be better for that, i didn't feel like buying 2 sets of pliers though lolThe tolerance is tight, teeth fit perfectly within each other, the handle movement is smooth. They feel good all around. My experience with knipex is that their steel has been top quality and I'm guessing these will live up to that and come with the kind of longevity I expect from knipex, but I'll have to let you know if that's the case in a couple years.All in all.. it always seems like a better choice to me to pay 30 for the tippy top quality version vs. 15 for the bullshit quality of your average budget tools these days. I use these every day at work and I'm happy every time I pick them up, so it's money well spent to me

Phenomenal pliers, great for light duty mechanical applications, or finesse work. Not for grabbing & twisting, or prying. These are meant for grabbing & pulling only. You will bend the steel if you use this for anything moderate.Get the mechanics version without a cutter if you want better grip from cross hatching, and twisting - ie, bending or pulling cotter pins. Or get the Snap On LN47ACF’s if you want a heavy duty do-all long nose plier.For finessing work, these are top shelf.
