Very cute and diverse set, the xylophone is actually in tune compared to other kids toys. Only complaint is the cymbals are pretty shard for kids who put everything in their mouth. Also most of the wood is sanded smooth and lightly finished, but the xylophone sticks are a rougher wood. So far no splinters and she loves putting them in her mouth but I wish they were smoother wood.

All the toys have issues. The tamborine arrived with tear. The noisemaker with the disc's fell apart after very light use. The xylophone bars are to small to strike accurately. The tamborines have sharp edges with burrs.

My daughter loves almost all things in this set at 13 months. The drum takes a beating from her with the stick and does present a few dings when she's done so.

The joy of watching my grandchild open the musical instrument set on Christmas Day was magical. Sadly, by day four, two pieces were broken. The tambourine is made from paper, which is not going to last under any circumstances, but the other instrument, when it broke, left a frightening nail.

This set is very nice on first glance, but as soon as my 18 month old started using the tambourine the drum broke. It was a very cheaply made paper covering, not durable at all. Otherwise this would have been a perfect set
