So glad I got this, bought it because the old water bottle leaked so much I thought the Guinea Pig had a drinking problem. Love the large capacity and light weight plastic and the floating duck is priceless. Highly recommend.

I've had no issues with leaking, but I did put a small water dish below it just in case. It does drip a little once you initially flip it over, but that's to be expected. It took me a second to figure out the spring to attach it to the cage, but it's not difficult once you find a good spot in the cage to put it. I got the 32 oz option, and it lasts my two young female rats about a week and a half before it needs to be refilled. The mouthpiece is easy to clean and so far I've had no issues with the spring cage attachment losing tension or anything like that.

I’m not quite sure why people are having so many issues with these water bottles. I have ordered 4 of these, to replace my rabbits heavy glass bottles. (Yes, I do have 4 rabbits) I have only ordered 4 because I have 4 rabbits not because the bottles break. I prefer these bottles to glass ones because they are not heavy, and therefore they do not bend the walls of the bunny cages. Also, my rabbits had trouble getting water out of the glass bottles. I have had these bottles for one year, and yes they still preform just fine. They do leak the tiniest bit, but hey at least my rabbits can get water out of them, and for $6 per bottle I’m surprised how long they have lasted. Don’t hesitate to buy this water bottle for your small pets, it’s a great product.

Amazing! Saves me having to fill my rats water more often and has literally zero issues. It's plastic, but durable, and really cheap compared to what you see in pet stores. Plus it comes with a cute lil duckie to gauge the amount of water left in it!

I have 2 water bottles in our bunny cage and this is his favourite. He won’t drink from the other one. Love how I can tell how much water is left at a glance because of the little duck monitor.

It's a good price, arrived quickly. But it leaks like crazy. I had to put the water bottle over my bunny's litter box due to the water just pooling and making everything wet. I didn't notice the little duck inside the bottle until I received it. I like it, my 6 year old tells me everyday where the little duck is so we know when to refill the bottle. Maybe if the spring that holds it up wasn't so tight it wouldn't squeeze the water bottle so much.

No leaks, the spring keeps it firmly in place, and bunny loves it! My daughter keeps trying to steal it and get the ducky out from inside though lol

I bought this bottle to attach to my dog's crate. He gets excellent use out of his current water bottle, but it is too small and he needs a bigger one that holds more water. A bottle provides access to water that cannot spill and stays fresh for longer periods of time than a dish so it works well for us. This bottle however doesn't work very well and leaks a lot. The metal spout isn't angled enough to fit far through the bars so it balances awkwardly on the outside of the crate and doesn't reach very far inside. Also, this bottle came in original packaging but the plastic of the water reservoir part was scratched all over and looked to be in rather poor condition.I would mention however, that I'm not really using this bottle for a normal purpose and it's possible that it fits better on small animal cages (as opposed to dog crates).

I debated whether to give this bottle two or three stars. I chose two because three seems too approving, but on the other hand, the product essentially works the way it's supposed to. Here are the issues I've found with this bottle listed below.1) The worst thing about this bottle is the lack of a proper cage attachment. The one the bottle comes with works just fine for securing the top of the bottle to the cage, but it does nothing to support the bottom part of the bottle. This means that the bottle, when full or even half full, simply slides out of its attachment and falls to the bottom of the cage. The other water bottle I bought from a different company had both top and bottom attachments for attaching their bottle to the cage. I find it astonishing that the people at Kaytee are so braindead that they didn't think to include a bottom piece. However, knowing how inefficient most corporations are and how badly they respond to customer complaints, I see how this could happen. But maybe, just maybe someone at Kaytee who has some degree of say so will read this review or reviews like it and make the change. If Kaytee had included proper attachments, I'd probably be giving this bottle a four star review. How did fix the problem? I took a few plastic cable ties (they come in huge packs and are a dime a dozen. Very handy for anyone who owns small animals that live in a cage). and strung them through the cage bars. The picture below shows how I fixed the problem. I hung two cable ties vertically, then ran two through those cable ties horizontally to support the weight of the bottle. With the top attachment in place too, the bottle works fine. Just make sure your pets can reach the bottle and it's in a place that you want it to be before attaching the cable ties.2) Another problem with the bottle is that it leaks a little bit when you fill it up and turn it upside down. This is a minor problem, since it will stop leaking within a few minutes. I suggest putting two or three paper towels below the bottle to catch the water, then removing them a few minutes later.3) The plastic the bottle is made from is rather thin and cheap. I haven't had an issue with it so far, but I can tell that the quality of the plastic could be better. These pet water bottles should be made with the same type of plastic that Nalgene uses for human water bottles. Conclusion: the water bottle itself is ok, but the company is idiotic not to include a bottom attachment. I initially thought that I was missing a piece, but other reviewers are saying the same thing I am, so I'm assuming the water bottle simply doesn't come with a bottom attachment piece. Point blank, it needs one. It could also leak less and be made with better plastic. Having said all that, the bottle works just fine for my rats once I installed the cable ties.
