Product Description

Unocho smart battery charger for lead acid 6v and 12v batteries, as well as lithium (lifepo4) 14.4v batteries.

Battery type selection options:

  • 6V Lead Acid Charging: Charges 6V lead acid batteries with a maximum current of 1.5A.
  • 12V Lead Acid Charging: Charges 12V lead acid batteries with a maximum current of 1.5A.
  • 12V Lithium (LiFePO4) Charging: Charges 14.4V Lithium (LiFePO4) batteries with a maximum current of 1.5A.

MODE: Press the MODE button to select the desired charging program.

  • 6V: The Unocho battery charger switches to 6V lead acid (Pb) battery charging mode with a maximum current of 1.5A.
  • 12V: The Unocho battery charger switches to 12V lead acid (Pb) battery charging mode with a maximum current of 1.5A.
  • 12V Lithium: The charger switches to 14.4V Lithium (LiFePO4) battery charging mode with a maximum current of 1.5A.

Fault (on): Indicates a reverse polarity connection of the battery. Please check the battery connection and correct the reverse polarity condition. Ensure that the red wire is connected to "+" and the black wire is connected to "-".

Pb charging mode is specifically designed for lead-acid batteries, supporting both 6V and 12V configurations with a maximum current of 1.5A.

1.Qualification Phase

  • To ensure the battery's condition before initiating the regular charging process, a safety measure has been implemented. The charging processes will not commence if the battery voltage is below 3 volts.

2.Soft Start Phase

  • Soft Start is engaged when the charger detects a battery with an extremely low initial state of charge voltage. In this mode, the current is gradually delivered at a predefined rate, allowing the battery to recover before entering the pulse charge mode.

3.Bulk Charge Phase

  • After the battery has undergone the necessary Qualification and Recovery phases, the Bulk Charge phase begins, providing a constant current to the battery. This phase aims to charge the battery from 19% to 80% of its full capacity.

4.Absorption Phase

  • During the Absorption phase, the battery is subjected to a constant voltage while the current is gradually reduced based on the ongoing monitoring of the battery's status. This process continues until the battery reaches a fully charged state of 100%.

5.Maintenance phase

  • The battery can be safely left connected to the charger for an extended period. The Unocho battery charger will continuously monitor the battery's status and automatically activate as necessary to ensure the battery remains fully charged and ready for use.

The LiFePO4 Charging Mode, designed for Lithium batteries, follows a comprehensive 4-stage charging process that incorporates a conditioning process map.

  • PCM Activation: Once the charger is correctly connected to the battery, it will deliver a consistent pulse frequency to activate the PCM (Protection Circuit Module) before commencing the charging program.

1. Soft Start Phase

  • Soft Start is employed when the Unocho battery charger detects a battery with an extremely low initial state of charge. In this phase, voltage and current are delivered to the battery at a specified rate, aiding the battery in recovering before proceeding to the bulk charge stage.

2. Bulk Charge Phase

  • After the battery has been successfully activated and undergone the necessary Soft Start phase, the bulk charge phase begins, providing a constant current to the battery. This phase aims to charge the battery up to 80% of its full capacity.

3. Absorption Phase

  • During the Absorption Phase, the battery is maintained at a constant voltage while the current is gradually reduced based on ongoing battery monitoring. This process continues until the battery reaches a fully charged state of 100%.

4. Full Charge

  • Charging is complete, and the battery can now be safely returned to service or left connected to the charger indefinitely.

I bought this to keep my new LiFePo4 motorcycle battery maintained in a heated garage over the winter. It didn't work, the battery was completely dead after a few months and it could not recharge it.

It is not charging ANY of my batteries wether they 12v or 14.4v. It detects them as always full. I will be returning this useless product. Big waste of my time

Tiny little thing that looks like it wouldn't work. It's a bit slow at 1.5 amp , but does the job , and charged my LiP04 batteries to a fuller voltage than my expensive charger will. Have used it on VRLA batteries too with equally good results.

I used this to first charge a 12V lipo scooter battery and used it to replace a depleted lead acid battery in my home electronic alarm system. After, I charge the lead acid battery which was completely discharged months ago. In either case the charge takes care of everything. I believe it repaired my lead acid battery before charging it for a whole 12 hours. I measured the battery afterward and it has regained the operational original voltage. So now I have a second backup battery.

Charged a new Lithium FePhosphate Battery. I kept watching the charge and the battery holds the charge. So good I bought a second one. Can be used with all batteries listed in information. For Lithium charges at 14.4 or 14.6 I'm not sure but a 12 volt ordinary battery charger will not do for Lithium Batteries. They require a higher voltage which is why some people have problems with their Lithium battery. Once a car starts the alternator takes over and powers the systems on the car. The Battery does NOT power the systems on the car. The Alternator puts out 14.5 Volts + or - .000 volts. If you have lights dimming as you drive or car seems to slow down it may be running only on the battery and you may have a loose alternator belt or a bad alternator or bad diodes in the alternator. Some guys are disappointed with their lithium battery which may be because they are not charging it to 14.4 or 14.6 VOLTS. See Instructions.

This is excellent for all my LifePo4 batteries. It also charges lead acid batteries, but I gave those up for all lithium batteries now.
