Your cart is empty.Digitally remastered edition of their third album that includes a 19 minute tour de force, "Parthenogenesis", which displays the quintet at their most experimental. Also featured is their incarnation of Henry Thomas "Bulldozer Blues" where singer Wilson retained the tune of the original song, rewrote the lyric and came up with "Goin' Up the Country", whose simple message caught the back to nature attitude of the late 60's and went to number one in 25 countries around the world.

I had this album as a kid growing up so I have been waiting for a good remastered version! This is it! I absolutely love this record as it shows the power this band yielded! This record has everything you could want! It has what could be the best blues song ever recorded in Sandys Blues and Bob “ Big Fat “ Hite sings it like he is actually blue and in real pain! It has the Heats biggest hit in Going Up the Country sung by Alan “ Blind Owl “ Wilson whose voice is like no other! It has the Heat delving into Psychedelia with Parthogenesis which features guest stars John Mayall and John Fahey! There is no other Heat song like this! It has the standard cut See That my Grave is Kept Clean which is simply incredible! I could go on but I will finish with the greatest boogie ever recorded the Live version of Fried Hockey Boogie which appeared on their previous album! Here it is re-named Refried Boogie and it took up two sides of the album! It has its own disc here and it sounds amazing! My only complaint is that I was hoping this version would not fade out and then fade back in for Henry “ Sunflower “ Vestines phenomenal psychedelic guitar solo! Can’t have everything so just buy this and treat yourself to one of the finest pieces of music ever created!

組曲ふうなのも斬新でいいです。「フライド・ホッキー・ブギ」のドラムソロはイマイチと思う＾＾でも持っているべきアルバムかと。

This is probably one of the more underrated bands of the 60's, I always thought Norman Greenbaum stole his riff from this groups "Fried Hockey Boogie" (which Canned Heat probably lifted from someone like Hooker) and it appears here on an extended version that goes on forever. And it has one of their biggest hits as well, "goin up the country"

This album is something that I have been looking for, for a very long time, especially the original "Refried Boogie" soundtrack in it's entirety. This album has all the finesse of a chain saw but the beat just drives you on. Great driving music and I recommend this album to anyone who enjoys good basic boogie blues with no frilly sissy s***!

Ce double disque de Canned Heat est composé de trois parties:-une première partie assez traditionnelle comportant en particulier le mégasuccès planétaire d'Alan Wilson "Going up the country" qui fit partie de la bande originale du festival de Woodstock, ainsi qu'un superbe "Sandy's blues" composé par Bob Hite.-la deuxième partie intitulée "Parthenogenesis" est franchement psychédélique (mot tiré du grec, et signifiant " qui manifeste le psyché"...). Qu'elle ait été ou non composée sous l'effet de certaines "substances", cette composition est assez extraordinaire de par sa richesse, son harmonie et son originalité absolue.-la troisième partie " Refried boogie" enregistré en public, est un régal pour ceux qui avaient apprécié "Fried hockey boogie" sur leur précédent disque (Boogie with Canned Heat). Il en constitue une reprise très étirée (40 minutes) sur laquelle chaque musicien y va de son petit solo. L'ensemble est génial."Living the blues" marque le sommet de l'art musical du groupe Canned Heat. Surtout ne pas s'en priver!
