Nice bottle, it comes with a single metal wire holder. Unfortunately the holder did not work very well with my Midwest cage. My guinea pigs would move and toss the bottle all around, sometimes even knocking it off the cage side entirely, because the single wire holder didn't keep it stable. Thus, I rigged it onto the cage side using two different holders (one from a different product) which seems to be working decently by holding it steadily in place. This bottle holds enough water to last an entire day and sometimes longer for both of my adult male guinea pigs. They share the bottle with no problem. Water flows reliably from the end with the ball, which ensures my guinea pigs can drink when they are thirsty. I would recommend keeping the bottle held upright at a 90 degree angle so that your guinea pigs are getting waterflow from their bottle as well.I did order to neon green version, but they sent me the clear bottle instead. It's not a big deal though, as I am content with the clear version and actually quite like how it looks.

The wire for hanging the bottle doesn’t work out of the box. There isn’t a notch in the bottle that will secure the wire. I had to bend the wire in different positions for over half an hour just to get it to secure the bottle between the screw lid and the bottle, and even then the spout was in the wrong angle. I had to pilfer the wire from my old bottle just to provide a secure fit. Also, it barely lets any water out, much less than the other bottles I’ve owned. Why does this have such good reviews?

After buying a glass water bottle and finding out, through the internet and personally, that they do not dispense water, I decided it was time to search for a nice plastic one. I selected this one because it had pretty decent reviews, and 8oz is generally my size of choice for hamsters and rats. This specific water bottle purchase was for my new Syrian hamster.I've been using it for about a month now, and I really like it. The size is decent and it has the potential to last a long time for one little hamster, I estimate that if I let it, the water inside would last her about 2 or 3 weeks before needing to be refilled. But I generally like to refill it with fresh water once a week. The ball feeds out water really well, and isn't in there so tight that she has a difficult time getting water. This does mean though that it can have the tendency to leak, but a tip for stopping that is once you have made sure that the cap is on tight, you tip the water bottle over as if you were going to hang it in the cage and give it a little squeeze to squirt a little bit of water out, then tap it a few times on the top. This was something that I was told by a pet store owner, and it has worked beautifully for me for the past few years. No more drippy water bottles!Overall, I am pretty pleased with this water bottle. It feels nice, and it is a good size for hamsters and mice. It would work for rats too, but if you have more than two rats then it will probably run out pretty fast.

I have two female rats, and had to quickly find a water bottle for them as they have decided their water bowl (affixed to the side of the cage) would be best suited as a toilet instead. So I bought two different kinds of water bottles in hopes that, if there is an issue with one, I will at least have a backup. This bottle served its purpose perfectly fine, and if not for my rats being as tenacious as they are, it might have served a long life. It wasn't prone to leaking, though it was loose. When my rats tried to drink from it, it would often fall to one side or another. However, the bottle's life was cut short when one of my rats was able to chew through the plastic portion of the spout. I woke up to two rats in a wet cage. So just be aware that if your small pets are prone to chewing, there is a chance they will decide to gnaw on the plastic portion of the spout that sticks into their cage.
