Too small for our two guinea pigs or rabbit. Would probably be great for a hamster, gerbil or mouse. Very thick and study construction, good quality!

First Amazon said they delivered it and didn't. Then they sent new one and took 2x as long as they told me. The hanger doesn't hold the bottle unless you put it under the spout which can be awkward depending on cage layout and animal can knock over. I plan to install zip ties to support the bottle.

I liked the fact that it has great volume, it's somewhat transparent. As for "leak proof", I'd say it's working well but I didn't like the fact that I had to fiddle with it so much to TRY getting it to fit with the cage. I think it should come with a dual metal fastener rings and/or indentions for the rings. Maybe the ring(s) could fit tightly into the indentions so as to "hug" the bottle more tightly.I found that the critter had already knocked the bottle out of the ring into the floor because it just didn't hold. I had to use the old ring from the bottle being replaced in order to have something to help hold the bottle around the cap that screws on. Otherwise the way the bottle comes, you just hang the ring on the cage and the bottle just slips right through into the floor because the ring doesn't have anything to "grasp" the bottle with to hold it. So we had to then readjust the ring to fit tightly to the bottle with the old ring supporting the cap.

We bought our Parrotlet from a breeder who had taught him to drink of out these Lixit bottles. So we had to buy them for our birds since it was already used to that. It turned out to be a good thing because we don't have to change dirty water dishes which birds always poop in. He can't poop in the Lixit so it's great. It gives him the water he needs and does not leak out all over the cage. He loves his lixit bottle, he likes to look at his reflection in the steel tube and I think he thinks he's feeding from another bird or something. It's been great when we go on vacation. We leave 2 or 3 bottles on the cage and it gives him enough water, to get through a 2 week vacation. We've never had the bottles leak out. They are soooo easy to clean, just put them in the top shelf of the dishwasher and that's all you need to do, gets them really clean. The bottle is easy to hang. We have been very happy with Lixit bottles, would buy again.

I bought one to see if they wouldn't have leaking issues and that one didn't leak like my last bottle (which was a constant leak and yes I tried all the things to get it to stop.) I have since ordered two more. One is exactly like the other. No leaking issues, but easy for my Guinea pigs to use. One did leak like crazy, but I realized it was missing the blue inner seal ring. If I take a ring from one of my other bottles, it seals just fine. I asked for a replacement and it's on the way without any issues. I really like this bottle style and if I need to order another bottle it will be one similar to this.

I have two pet rats and the previous bottle I had would have the ball stopper get stuck and then it would leak everywhere, this is not the case with this one. It is small so keep an eye on the water. Ideally you should be rinsing it out and refilling it daily, but it will hold enough for my boys for 3 or 4 days if needed.The wide mouth makes it easy to get my bottle brush in to give it a good scrub to keep it free of bacteria.The hooks sometimes are annoying to get back on the cage which is okay considering that this doesn't slide around like the other bottle so I am am okay with it.
