My wife and I just finished a 7,500 mile road trip throughout the southwest - in all kinds of road conditions. We have a Toyota Sienna, and I wanted to make sure we weren't stranded somewhere if we lost the key! Our key type is the kind where the fob that locks & unlocks the car is separate from the actual key. There is no way both would fit in one of these holders.... so I removed the fob from the key & just took the key (which will manually unlock the doors and, of course, operate the van). They call these holders "extra large"... that may have been appropriate 50 years ago when keys were just, you know, keys. I would guess MOST keys/fobs today would NOT fit in one of these. However, having said that, I checked the key fob for our Mazda CX-5, and it DOES fit - just barely.So... very important with these products, if they're to be used to hide a key on a vehicle, is that the magnets attach the box very securely. I searched around under the van for a good, level place made of metal where I could put the key hider on top - so it didn't need to hang underneath something. I found such a place on top of a suspension piece near the edge of the van toward the rear. Just now, I went out to find the holder. Not only was it still there, the magnets (2) were holding it so securely that I actually had some difficulty retrieving it. There was no way this would have ever worked its way loose. As far as weather tightness, the interior of the box & the enclosed key were quite dusty (not surprising), but there was no evidence of any moisture intrusion. So.... I'd say moisture proof, but not dust proof.In summary, IF your key fits, this product works great.

After my husband and I accidentally locked ourselves out of our camper WHILE camping, we realized we needed to find a long-term solution. The camper key is quite large and it's multicolored so it's not very discrete. I loved that this was a two pack - so it's a great value - and it is extra large so it accommodates larger keys like the one for our camper. The two magnet strips on the back are very strong so we have no trouble getting it to magnetize to the underside of our camper. More importantly, the cover slides in and "clicks" so that you know it's sealed in the compartment well.

Easy to hide and good for tiny storage. Will fit all keys I have. Would appreciate a stronger open/close slide, but the dual magnet holds up well. Would purchase again from this product line.

Re: Lucky Line Magnetic Key Hider, Extra Large, (2 Pack). These are exactly what I need to hide my house and gate keys (standard size keys). I have used these before for house keys and that's my plan now. The two magnets are extremely strong, though I have no idea how they would hold up if used on a car. Negatives: (1)The box is NOT large enough for my 2017 SUV key if that's the intended use; and (2) as somebody else mentioned, the boxes show in BOLD LETTERS "KEY HIDER" which rather defeats the purpose. It would be a simple fix to leave the holders plain and let the packaging do the ad. I have blocked the lettering using a wide permanent marker. If this somehow doesn't stay I have some black duct tape....

Do what they were meant to do.> Strong Magnets that firmly holds on to metal> Lid holds securely and clicks into place> Big enough to fit car key- If someone else sees it, they won't know what it isOverall good product. Would recommend.
