It's smaller than it looks. The kit was OK, 100% all plastic. The ball was stuck inside mine, and is sticky. Have to tap it to get it to move, and hope it's accurate once it does.I am going to test it on the water this weekend, if it can't identify directions I'm going to ask for a refund.

Right from the start, it’s a nice looking piece, however, it does not work. The compass seems to have not enough liquid inside the compass, it sticks. And just simple dnt have accurate reading.It’s now on my Kayak for nothing more than decor.Gonna be switching it out as soon as I order another.

Doesn’t work at all. Movement is jerky, and it points to every direction except the right one. Just a useless toy.

I thought maybe other reviewers did not properly calibrate, or had bad mounting locations. But I carefully followed directions to calibrate, testing in a site with no metal around at all. Got it to read accurately when pointed north or east, but when I turned it to face south it was off by at least 45 degrees. Completely useless.

Not even sure why Amazon is selling this item. I did read the reviews...most of which now mirror my sentiments...I should have listened! No amount of adjusting could make this Compass work. Once I made an adjustment with the provided tool....within seconds without moving the compass the direction would change again!! I would be MORE lost using this item!!!

The “floating” ball inside the container that was supposed to rotate to indicate the directionality stuck. When I tapped the casing, the ball would shift a little but never reached true direction. I received a couple of texts from the vendor but mostly telling how to set the device up or read it. Never an offer to replace a malfunctioning device. Waste of money!!
