Pretty flimsy.Be careful installing. Especially if you are trying to get the headunit set. Not very impressed with this, but it did it job.

The item broke on me the day I tried installing it. It took me about 1 hour to try and figure out to fix the problem. At the end I had to put electrical tape on the face plate to keep it on. Doesn't look good in my opinion.. Like I said. I'd keep on looking. I would buy this again and thinking about replacing it..

First off, the OEM replacement dash is over $100 from reputable VW/Audi distributors. Being that I didn't want to pay that much, I turned to Amazon.Yes this is made out of plastic, and no, it's nowhere near as nice as an OEM Dash Pocket. However, it fulfills its purpose just fine! It is incredibly easy and fit my car (2003 GTI) perfectly when I removed the factory Double DIN and went to a Single DIN.I can see that taking the dash pocket out could lead to it breaking easily, and that is why I am only giving it 4 stars, but I am very satisfied with the result.There are also small holes in the back which makes routing a USB extension from the rear of a new head unit trivial.Awesome bang for the buck.

Excellent fit and finish, though it doesn't exactly match the trim of my 2003 Jetta GLS. Can be used in the top or bottom portion of the dash. I actually put it above the CD player because the cup holder would hit the power/volume knob when opened with the CD player in the top position.
