Gave me the gain i needed for my rode podmic on my budget setup. Teyun q12 - this mic preamp - podmic.There were cracks and pops on the first cold start while monitoring but as i let this run more on 48v, i guess charging the capacitors, it is now noise free and works as intended as a mic booster. What used to be max gain on my mixer is now only on 9-12 oāclock for plenty of power. I just use my mic for discord and nothing professional but i have no issues using this for amateur VO work/narration or for zoom meetings.

Used this with a Beta58 and Yamaha mixer and while it amped the signal, it dropped the low frequencies and made it sound tinny.

The product description lead me to expect that I would not be able to hear the added phantom power in my recording. Nope! I tested two of these items, and though they boost gain as advertised, the added background noise negates that increase for my purposes. If you want clean gain, keep looking!

The unit is noise. You can hear the spark sound inside the headphone when you are streaming. The quality if control, it is an issued.
