About this item

  • Sturdy construction: The four steel support tubes feature a scratch-resistant black powder-coated finish, while the rigid, thick MDF shelves feature a finish that cleans easily and resists scratches and scuffs. Each shelf is acoustically inert and can support up to 75 lbs., while the shelf with the support bar can hold up to 150 lbs.
  • Open air design: The stand is designed with open air shelving for critical airflow, cooling, and ease of access to your components. Unlike most enclosed AV cabinets, this sturdy design will ensure your equipment receives plenty of circulating air that will keep them from overheating during use.
  • Modular construction: The fully customizable modular design lets you build your rack exactly as tall as needed. Start with the base and add as many of the 4 shelves as you need. One set of steel support tubes are longer, allowing one tier of the stand to accommodate taller components.
  • Additional support bar: Attach the provided support bar underneath a shelf for additional structural bracing for your heaviest components.
  • The perfect way to organize and display your AV components.

The Monolith Audio Stand XL is a four-shelf AV stand for your home theater or entertainment system. Its large wood finished shelves are sturdy and durable, while its open air design allows for maximum airflow and easy access to connections. Sturdy, tubular steel pillars provide incredible strength and an under the shelf support bar provides powerful rigidity to support even the heaviest of components. The Monolith Audio Stand XL is the perfect way to organize and display your AV components.

Product is solidly built and went together with great ease. No issues whatsoever. I think I will buy another one for the basement system.

It's not often that I am particularly impressed with a product. It seems that everything costs more and that quality is going steadily down to save on production costs. This is a rare exception and what an exception. For reference I have a Salamander Archetype rack for my main system which costs about double what this Monolith rack costs. Is it better in any way ? Not really unless you really need the shelves to be fully adjustable. This Monolith is solid as a rock and heavy (more than 60 lbs) ! The shelves might be MDF but I've seen some much lighter duty MDF. These are made of very dense 1 inch MDF that look absolutely divine in the "faux" but fabulous maple finish (XL version). The instructions are clear without the need for any written words. The steps are easy to follow and I completed the rack in 15 minutes with no additional tools needed. Everything is in the box and neatly packed. Although mine came with absolutely no damage whatsoever (not a scratch, chip or anything bent), I'd like the shelve packaging to be more robust. I'd like to point out that there is a single error that I could find in the instructions: In step 4, they list 4 X F screws and 4 X G washers when in fact there are only 2 furnished and only 2 needed. Small mistake. A tip for screwing the pillars: tighten them lightly with one hand and when tight, grip them with both hands and continue tightening. You will have much more torque and be able to have a tighter/more solid connection between shelf and column. Minor things I would prefer: Black powdered pillars/columns. IMHO the combo black/maple shelves would look even better then the silver painted ones here. I'd also like the bottom pillars/columns to be as high as the ones from the other shelves. In other words I'd like the bottom shelf to be slightly higher off the ground and the rack to be a good 4-6 inches higher overall. These things are very minor. Considering the price for this model (just a tad higher than the regular model Monolith), I am shocked at the quality/price ratio. You will not get anything remotely as solid at this price period ! I am almost ashamed of keeping this in the basement for my secondary exercise room "vintage" system. It looks so nice that it has no business being in a basement. It can be proudly displayed in a living room, bedroom or movie theater room. In other words it looks expensive but it's not. Unless you need fully adjustable shelves for very tall equipment, there is no need to pay much more for just that feature. Get it and don't look back !

Extremely easy to assemble. Good quality and quite solid (which is it's purpose). Recommended. One thing... box with everything in it was EXTREMELY heavy.

Very sturdy, well-made audio stand, modular construction allows some customization of shelf positioning, and number of shelves desired.

I had read all the five star reviews before deciding to purchase Monolith by Monoprice 4 Tier Audio Stand XL Maple. I can add my five star review as well. This unit arrived exceedingly well packaged. Each piece individually wrapped in cardboard.Assembly was easy to follow and straightforward. The most impressive feature of the unit is how sturdy it is. It is one very solid piece of furniture. Since I just purchased an expensive Pro-Ject Debut Pro Turntable it was critical to have furniture to support any chance of movement while playing vinyl LP's.It is a winner as is the Pro-Ject Debut Pro Turntable. You won't be disappointed.

Prodotto Made in Taiwan ma arriva dagli USA.

Bought this to carry my audiophile quality hi fi equipment. Stands made by the equipment maker cost around £3k for four shelves and as I wasn’t sure that this arrangement would suit my lounge I decided to buy a low cost version as a try out. What a good decision that was. This stand is very well made, it assembled very easily and provides a rock solid base for my equipment. The objective of a stand is to eliminate any vibrations from the equipment. The expensive versions have real wood shelves and spiked feet for each shelf whereas this stand has MDF shelves and steel column supports. MDF is a very inert substance and in my view is ideal for damping vibrations. I also find the stand a quite attractive piece of furniture and my equipment sounds very clean and detailed on it, so in all a very satisfactory purchase at very low cost which doesn’t happen very often!

This is such a great rack for the price. Note: the maple version is not actual maple but it is printed MDF. I wish they have mentioned that in the description. Nevertheless, it is still an awesome rack for the price.

My only advice to the manufacturer is to label all parts to match the instructions. The unit I received did not have all parts labeled to match instructions so you need to measure most pieces and figure out how to install it together. Additionally the instructions begin by directing you to install it together upside down, then turn it rightsize up to finish (which is fine and begins to make sense when you're halfway through) but it never mentions this fact in the instructions adding to the assembly confusion and time to assemble. Regardless, I give it five stars as it is very well made and very solid. I have a 53LBS receiver sitting firmly on top, 30Lbs tube amp and 45LBs receiver on the bottom and no wobbles at all.
