It's very cool in concept and design, very fun as well. Just err..12 designs? really? This lasted about an hour and a half shared between the two girls, and they are ten.Foil parts transfer onto the drawings in this notepad, lets call it that. short notepad. Lines are crisp and neither of the kids had trouble with anything contained within.I paired this with the companies tracing lightbox to stretch the afternoon out a bit to give you an idea, you might want to pickup some additional materials as well if they are adept!

My 7 years old daughter is an absolute fan all the Nebulous Star products and this one was no exception. It is well made, the Colors are bright and fun. Would absolutely recommend it.

My 10-year-old daughter and I have been having a blast checking out several Nebulous Stars sets and have been mostly impressed with what we've tried out so far. So, when I saw this foil art kit from Nebulous Stars, I had to order it to see how it stacks up against the other kits we've tried from the company. My daughter is very artistic, so I knew this would be right down her alley. As is true of all of the other Nebulous Stars kits we've tried, the packaging for this kit is absolutely gorgeous. Everything comes packaged inside of a sturdy, beautifully-illustrated, full-colour, glittery, hard-cover book with a big coil spine. Inside the book, your child will receive everything she needs to do foil art: 12 boards with lovely images, 12 pieces of foil, foil adhesive pen, Isadora's complete story, and full-colour instructions.The book feels durable with its hard-cover and has some heft to it, considering its size, that makes it feel robustly made. It is a nice, compact size at 8.5” tall x 6” wide and is 12” wide when fully extended, so this kit is perfect to take on the road to keep your child entertained on long car-rides or it can be easily packed to take to another location. As I stated above, the cover of the book is truly gorgeous and will surely captivate little eyes, hearts, and minds. It features Nebulous Stars, Isadora and Aura, in all of their sparkly, magical glory. The spine is a generous-sized, metal coil that makes it easy to turn pages, lay pages flat, and tear them out. Inside the book, you'll not only find the included supplies, you will find Isadora's story as well as the instructions. The instructions are full-colour and wonderfully-illustrated, giving children clear, easy-to-follow, step-by-step directions on how to use the foil, so there is no confusion. The thick and sturdy image boards are 6” x 6”, so just a couple inches bigger than a CD case. Parts of the images on the boards have been lined with adhesive already so that, all your child need do is to remove the protective covering on the image board, lay the foil down, wait 5 minutes, peel back the foil and, voila, the image magically turns into a gloriously sparkly masterpiece! The images are well-rendered; they are very anime-like and feature beautiful, big-eyed girls along with strange, yet magical creatures. Each of the foil pieces comes in different colours and designs that are all sparkly and look holographic. The foil is packaged in plastic and is a little smaller than the boards at 6” x 5”, which I feel was an odd choice. The pen can also be found inside the book, packaged in a little plastic tray and covered in cellophane. The only thing with the tray is that, once the cellophane is removed, there is no way for the pen to stay in the tray. The pen itself is made of a sturdy-feeling plastic with a tip that allows children to draw whatever they would like in adhesive, so that, when it is foiled, their drawing comes to life in metallic colours!My daughter and I had such a fun time making foil art with this kit and we loved the results! My daughter just loves the look of these sets; she gets easily drawn into the Nebulous Stars universe. So much so, that she has been drawing the NS characters for the past few weeks. We also love how sturdy and well-made everything is. The book, in particular, is just fantastic. The coil makes it so easy to access everything and to keep the area freed up for the little artist to work. We do wish the boards and foil pieces were bigger, though. We both find it strange that the foil pieces were made an inch smaller width-ways than the boards, so that a small part of the image at the sides gets left out. We also wish that more images and foil was included in the set, but I guess you can't have everything. My daughter and I love that an adhesive pen came included so we can make our own designs and foil them. This gives children a way to use their creativity to personalize each image. But we wish there was a way to keep the pen attached to the set after its opened. One of the Nebulous Stars kits we have is also packaged in a book and the book has a hole in the spine specifically to stick the pen cap into so you can keep the pen with the book. I don't know why something similar wasn't done here? Those were our only complaints, but I felt I should air them so that you know exactly what you are getting. The instructions are really easy to follow, but really, this process is all so intuitive, you barely need instructions for it. I also wanted to mention that you need to be sure to smooth the foil out properly when you put it on the image. Just like wallpapering, you need to continue to run your hand down the foils until any wrinkles or air bubbles disappear, otherwise, the foil won't adhere to parts of the image. When done properly, the finished images are incredibly beautiful.Had this been any other foiling book on the market, I'd say the $20.99 asking price is highway robbery, but because Nebulous Stars puts so much thought and detail into each element of this set and everything is so well made and beautiful, I feel it's worth the asking price. This is a foiling set any child would be excited to get as a gift. Nebulous Stars recommends this set for children 7+, but I think younger children could use it, though they may need a little help with the instructions. This is a set that will help your child explore their creativity and will flex their decision-making process. I hope this review has helped you to make the purchasing decision that is right for you and your child(ren).

As with all the other Nebulous Stars items that I've seen and received, this is impressively solid and well-made. The book is made of very heavy-duty board and the foil kit itself, while similar to others on the market, consists of high-quality sheets and an adhesive pen, limiting the amount of mess and increasing the portability of the kit. Only issue is that the pen doesn't slot back into the book easily once everything has been opened, so there's more of a chance of misplacing it. The end result pages are quite beautiful, but unfortunately only 12 "scenes" to work on.

I'd never seen this brand before, but I was drawn to the gorgeous color palettes and beautiful art style, both of which I knew my niece would adore. While she enjoys crafting, neither of us has tried foil art, so it was nice to try something new. The book features twelve pictures, each measuring 5.5 by 6 inches, making them perfectly sized for a quick and fun activity for children. Additionally, there are 12 different foil patterns to choose from, allowing for quite a bit of freedom to create something unique.Once we reviewed the instructions, my seven-year-old niece had no trouble figuring out how to use the adhesive pen and apply the foil. My daughter is a “nebulous stars” series’s fan and she loves arts and crafts. So when I see this foil art kit available to order, I believe it would be a perfect little gift for her and so far I am right, she loves it! 😊👍Firstly, this foil art kit is made in amazing quality! There are 12 foil arts pages included with a glue pan and different colour foils available to use. It is definitely taking hours for my daughter to complete all pages, and I would say this is more suitable for children 8+ (my daughter is currently 9 years old). My daughter loves the arts inside and she finds it fun to play with it.Overall, a really nice foil art kits for little “nebulous stars” fans for sure! 😊❤️👍
