I have an older ariens snowblower and found having only 1 auger belt it would wear quickly.Once I upgraded to the double pully kit it through snow further and I haven't replaced a belt since

This kit made a huge improvement in the usability of my nearly 20 year old snowblower. Even when it was new the original single pulley system never worked all that well when the snow was wet and heavy. As the snowblower aged it became ever less usable in such conditions, as the discharge chute almost immediately became clogged. After several nearly snowless winters I finally got a chance to use the snowblower with the upgraded dual pulley system last week, and the difference was like night and day.

Not recommended for 9hp but did it anyway. Happy with results in wet snow. So far less belt slip.

After many years my auger belt went. While researching a replacement belt I came across this Ariens modification to have two belts instead of just one. Let me tell you, this is a game changer. Very easy to change over to this on my model. Took about an hour to do. I spent most of the time getting the drive pulley off the shaft. Sprayed it with WD40 and hit it with a small hammer alternating the strike points and it worked its way off. There are some great videos on YouTube on how to do this conversion. The parts are Ariens Factory Parts and arrived quickly from the supplier. Could not be happier. Makes my blower better then new again.

Have not gotten to use it on a "normal" snow since I installed the kit. The only snow I've had opportunity to use it on was very, very, wet and sticky. However, it did not pull down as with the single belt system as the single belt was prone to do. This snow was so sticky, it was getting caught in the Shute. Can't blame the dual belt drive tho because my 23hp yard tractor blower was having similar problem and it will normally throw almost any kind of snow/ice 30-40'. Im sure it will be worth the money/upgrade on a more normal snow. Unfortunately (or fortunately) we probably won't have anymore "normal" snows this spring.
