I have 4 cockatiels and one of them is 23 years old. I noticed that he was starting to show his age a little and is less active than he used to be, although he is still using the perches and eating/drinking fine. I decided to order these platforms to give him (and the other 3 birds) a flat surface above floor level to sit/eat on if he wants to. I have put 2 of the platforms in the cage at the highest perch level, to enable him to roost at night on them if he wants to, although he still prefers the perches at the moment. I have put one of the platforms very slightly lower next to one of the perches, so that the birds can step down onto it from the perch. I have put a small food bowl and cuttlefish next to the platform to encourage them to use it and so far (once their suspicion had passed !) they have all been using it and eating the food/cuttlefish on the platform. The platforms are an excellent size and came with all the washers and nuts present and correct ! They are easy to fit and very sturdy once in place. I am very happy with my purchase and so are the birds. Highly recommended !

My budgies love these perches. Unfortunately they spend most of their time on them so they need to be cleaned quite often. They were very easy to install and it gives the birds a break from regular perches. I would recommend them as long as your cage is big enough to handle them. I was a bit concerned that they would be too big, but they are a perfect fit.

Large, solid and a bit heavy - these will give your bird friends a lot of surface area to walk on but they need strong bars to hold them up as they are on the heavy side.

These are nice platforms for my budgies, they love them. when it came it was missing 3 washers though. definitely sturdy.Make sure you take your birds to the vet regularly to get there nails trimmed, otherwise it will hurt for them to stand on flat platforms and perch, because the nail will push up into the toe and cause pain. Don't use nail grinding perches they can cause bumble foot, go to a vet to get them properly trimmed.
