I have only had this amp for a few days but I would say it's a great value. The excessive treble can be tamed with a different 12ax7 in V1. In my case I put a Sylvania 12au7 I had laying around- this reduced the gain on the preamp as well. I use the amp with a closed back 112 with a small amount of dirt with a Revv g2 overdrive pedal providing most of the drive. I have not cranked the amp but it works great for the bedroom level tones I use it for. The amp is very quiet and looks cool. Time will tell if there are reliability issues- I'm not expecting anything other than tube swaps for such a simple circuit. I doubt I could buy the parts for what this thing costs.

For the price, sounds super great...some static, but not too bad. One of the best amps I have ever had, actually. Will it last, we will see:).Update (2025): still going strong, I actually bought another one of these because they sound so great. I have a Boss Nextone too, I like that a lot btw, not tube, of course…but like the sound, can get same, but tube different out of this amp.2nd update: April 2025—This company has excellent customer service. I had a little issue and contacted Oripure. They (Sophie) got right back to me and resolved the issue. Really, best customer service I have received for at least 10 years. Sophie, greatly appreciated your time and attention. And awesome sounding amps!

I just got it and put it through its paces. I can't speak to the longevity of the tunes yet, but every tube amp has the same issues. I hooked it up to a 12 inch Vintage 60 and the clean is highly detailed. Add a bit of gain and you get a pleasant break. I'm not using overdrive pedals, not playing death metal so don't know how it performs there. Add a little more gain and you get great crunch. Perfect for country blues classic rock roots rock etc. Features are well thought out. Both 8 and 16 ohm out. That is amazing wish every manufacturer did that. So, you can switch cabs easy. Has a standby switch to keep the tubes warm when you want to switch guitars or take a break. The actual power switch is on the back. Has a nice modern industrial look and who doesn't like the warm orange glow of tubes. Even the 5 watt is plenty loud for practice or most jams unless you have a power drummer. Practicing at 110 dB is so 1970s anyway. Wish I found this amp sooner.

I cannot say enough good things about the OriPure 5W All Tube Guitar Amplifier Head OAH-05. Out of the box, with its PSVANE tubes, it sounded wonderful. Somewhat Champy, but tight on the bottom and just a little trebbly. And there is no noise! I did not hear any high frequency hiss nor 60hz hum. At this price, this is amazing. I do wonder what is going on inside there... But there is not a whole lot clean headroom, as it's configured, but that's not the intent with this box. Nor does it seem to be pushing 5W. But the tone is great for a practice amp. Just make sure your speaker(s) are very efficient.I even swapped some tubes. I found the sockets pretty tight, so some of my attempts were not possible. I did manage to install a J&J 12AU7, and then had a wide range of clean gain - and the tone was sooo wonderful.... if only I could make it really loud!So I did: I plugged the 8ohm output of my OAH-05 into the Line input of my Solid State amp, and took it easy with the gain and volume settings. Now I can get a extraordinarily good tone as loud as I want!
