Many times, I've nailed a few 2x4s together to make a firewood rack and in time the joints get bent out of shape. Simply using nails or screws is just not good enough.These steel brackets have solved that problem. They are much more secure and don't twist out of shape. Using them, I've built my new wood rack 4 feet tall and 6 feet long. After loading it up with wood, it has held nicely without the need for any cross bracing.They're simple and very effective.

I liked the light weight construction of the log holder, however, very loose fit with the 2x4’s.

We picked up this bracket set to store split firewood for our outdoor fire pit. We had previously kept wood on piles on the ground but it was causing issues with rot and the pile falling over. This is an inexpensive solution to both those problems, and is perfect for using outdoors. Right out of the box, I was impressed by the weight of the brackets as well as the bolts to assemble it. Please note, you will need to buy 2x4s to fully assemble it, these are just the brackets to build it.Comparing this rack to others on the market, and one that we already have, we noticed this one has no additional cross bar support pieces. We are not using tall pieces of wood for the vertical portion, so I hope it won’t be an issue over time with the wood warping. I’ve deducted one star for the lack of this support piece.I like that we are able to make it whatever size we want, based on the length of board. In this case, we want a narrow rack on our patio for quick access around the fire. We have one similar to this style elsewhere and it has held up well over the past year. Based on the solid construction of these brackets, and the durable hardware, we will enjoy this stand for many years to come!
