It is recommended to cover the fire pit to protect it from rain, snow, dust and leaves while storing your fire pit outside permanently.
And the cover lid can let the stove stay outside overnight even when the fire isn't quite out yet.

This lid fits perfectly on top of my Solo Bonfire. The upper ring of the Bonfire does not need to be removed because this lid fits right over it. It has a nice weight, and the handle is great.

It's a little wider than the pit, but it's better too wide than than too narrow. Maybe the original is the same - I wouldn't know. The original doesn't have a handle, and this one does. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I was concerned about this purchase because it was significantly less money than the "official" Solo lid. I am very pleased with its appearance and functionality. The stainless material is heavy enough and seems to be of good quality. The addition of a handle makes this version very easy to use. Also, I think the handle makes the stove look much less like a "giant can of paint" sitting on the patio like the handleless Solo version kind of does. So far so good! It's been outdoors for about two months so far. I'll update if there are any problems with durability.

PARTAKER 19.5-in Stainless Steel lid w/handle For Solo Stove Bonfire: made in china, packed okay, solid lid, no flex, easy to assemble, formed to fit over the Bonfire rim ring, looks good. Size is ~about 3/8-in larger all around than my Solo Bonfire. (Bonfire measured Dia-19-1/4-in, PARTAKER Dia-19-7/8-in) It does seam to sit centered but when pushed to one side gives about ~5/8-in between lid rim and stove, so not sure how it will handle high winds. If the wind picks up during a fire and I have to cover the pit I'll just put my safety bucket of water on the lid just to be sure. I use the Solo carry bag (upside down) to cover the pit when cold and with lid/handle there is still has plenty of fabric to cinch under the unit. The handle is a nice hold, not as tall (I like it, I can now store my Bonfire outside in inclement weather, AND I saved monies to put toward other accessories (or a choice steak!!). 4 stars due to excess width of the lid.
