Have ordered some new tips but tried this on my old blue diamond tip first. Looks so good now and with a perfectly shape dome I'll give it a try before I put any new tips on. Excellent piece of kit and fits perfectly alongside the chalk in my cue case.

I can’t remember the last time I did anything but chalk the tip of my cue. When I used to play snooker a few times a week in my youth I was always reshaping my tip and ensuring it was in excellent condition. In my older years I play pool in a Monday night league and I use a cheap cue I picked up somewhere and I’ve used it for just coming up to ten years and I don’t think I’ve touched the tip once.Anyway, I thought I’d give it some love and attention and try this Patikil tip tool.It says it’s made from durable plastic, but it feels like metal to me. It’s the size of a cube of chalk and has three uses. Firstly, there’s a flat scuffer, to rough up the tip of your cue. Then there’s a needle poker, which you push down on your tip. Those first two tools give your tip a key that will absorb more chalk and combined with the rougher surface will, in theory, allow more purchase on the cue ball and improve spin control. The last tool is the arc shaper. There’s actually three arc shapes of slightly different sizes.I used all three tools when the product arrived, and I’ve played two matches since I used it. Did I notice much improvement? Marginally. It definitely roughed up the surface, and it certainly holds a bit more chalk. It’s not overhauled my game in any way, but it’s perhaps given me more confidence that the cueball will respond better to my input with the cue.
