My 11-year old loves science and when I gave this periodic table to him, he was so excited that he wanted to display it on his desk right away. It came in a nice packaging so it would make a great gift. The solid wood base helps keep the periodic table stable on the desk and it looks good. When I first opened the package, I had a wow feeling. It surprised me how well made it is and it looks so much nicer in real life than on pictures. My son had the same feeling as soon as he saw it. He's not sharing lol. Not only can you use it to study the periodic table but it also looks like as a decor on a shelf or a desk. I highly recommend it.

This product comes well presented. The brown box that houses everything has a nice sticker that reads " Thank-you for your purchase." Inside, holds a blue box of a dolphin of some sort with a half moon which contains the periodic table itself and next to it, the wooden stand. Everything is safely covered in bubble wrap and the periodic table is covered in a removable film. They have used real specimens of the elements and enclosed all of it in a high transparency acrylic material. They've noted that since mercury is harmful, they replaced it with red mercury oxide. Keep in mind however, that the specimens themselves and the writing especially, are extremely small. Some would say extremely tiny. Impossible for me to read even with reading glasses. The dimensions are shown in the product description so please make note of that. I wish it was bigger or the writing larger. The wooden base adds added stability and a nice touch. Thoughtfully, enclosed in the box, is a polishing cloth. I think this would make a good gift for a student embarking on studying the elements or anyone who is interested in science. Keep in mind though, who you may gift to, given the size. Yes, the packaging is very good but given the size of the periodic table it is more of a novelty decoration than a practical tool. I would give it 3 stars due to the size but since they do list the dimensions, I will rate it 4 stars.

This was exactly what I ordered. Compact with a wow factor being real materials inside.Perfect for a desk top and durable incase it falls. Such a fun gift.
