✦Structural Details: Coarse octahedrite, Og, Widmanstatten bandwidth 3.0 ±0.6 mm.
✦Chemical Details: Group I, 6.68% Ni, 0.43% Co, 0.25% P, 87 ppm Ga, 407 ppm Ge, 3.6 ppm Ir.
✦ Age: 4,000 to 6,000 years ago.
Earliest History
✦The first record of the Campo was in 1576. A Spanish governor learned of the iron from the Indians who reportedly believed that it had fallen from heaven. The governor sent an expedition under the command of one Captain de Miraval who brought back a few pieces of a huge iron mass he called Meson de Fierro (large table of iron).
The Important Minerals
✦Kamacite--this iron nickel alloy makes about 90 percent of specimens in finger size and width crystals. Neumann bands are common.
✦Taenite and plessite, the other iron-nickel alloy constituents are found at grain boundaries.
✦Schreibersite is uncommon.
✦Troilite is found aggregates with graphite and silicates.

Its a super cool necklace with a cool story. I love wearing it and its super lightweight but still has a weight to it to hold it down. I have only a slight problem with the fact that it is completely flat on the back, so Im constantly making sure the 3D side is facing out or it just looks like a flat square. Other than that it is an amazing necklace.

I bought this for a friend who is a big space enthusiast. She loves it! The box is just plain gorgeous. The certificate of authenticity was great (she looked up the story online). The stone is an interesting shape. The price is right. The leather chain, however, is what clinched it for me. The metal ones look cheap unless you spend a lot. The leather chain really matches the rugged "in the field" look of wearing a meteorite. I made big points for giving a unique gift that everyone was talking about.My friend is a nurse in a busy city PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit). She uses Star Wars and space stuff to start conversation with her sick and injured child patients. The meteorite is a huge hit. She wears it every day. The kids are amazed to get to touch a rock from space and she tells them all about it. It take their mind off their (serious) problems. You don't get put in an ICU unless you are really in trouble.

It arrived just as stated: in a handcrafted box with authenticity certificate and measured 2.5 cm. I know meteorites can be quite pricey! So overall this was worth it to me. Bought it for my daughter's birthday and she was thrilled! To own something that had floated up in space is very exciting!
