This is a creative and enjoyable hybrid of a 90s/early 2000s boom box type player, with the CD player and FM radio, and a present-day Bluetooth speaker. It makes for a good deal of portable versatility in audio entertainment.I would have appreciated an AM radio option, but honestly it doesn’t suffer too much for the exclusion. I had a lot of fun watching my 10yo figure out how to play a CD in it; he figured it out without too much trouble, and seemed to find the retro experience of physical media a real novelty. The sound is clear, with a good range of volume (I have had to call down the hallway for the kids to turn it down more than once!). We don’t have a great availability of radio signals where we live, but it picks up those we can access with no trouble. This has proved a fun, family-friendly media interface for both older physical media, and modern Bluetooth connections.

So handy as I have a number of CD's but didn't have anything that I could play them anymore. Numerous uses, CD player, FM radio, blue tooth speaker, AUX player, USB-MP3 player, headphone jack, remote control. Top-loading, with previous, next song, stop, repeat functions. Programmable memory for up to 30 pre sets. Pair with phone, tablet or other blue tooth devices to wirelessly stream music, so portable, take with you. Also auxiliary input to allow wired input, just plug and play with included AC cord. For use without plugging it in, need 4 C batteries, not included. Use headphones so won't disturb others. Has a large volume dial on the top. The remote control is used without batteries.

I tested the remote and it was good for at least 27 feet direct and off axis at 45° (all the length of room I had). Remote to boom box response is very good. The Bluetooth works great, 36 feet and through three walls!Volume is incremental up to 32 steps and is sufficient for most uses including irritating neighbours when used outdoors (just kidding about irritating neighbours). With USB it will read up to 999 tracks. It does not display artist or song title only track number then running time. It appears that it plays alphabetically by artist not song title. I prefer song title due to the fact I have ten songs or more by a single artist in my playlist. As a side note, I have 1100 songs in my USB playlist. When I plug in my USB, it started at “W” artists. With another USB it started alphabetically from “A”. In random play for USB, the display cycles intermittingly showing running time, “rand” and current track number. Random in USB/CD is found using the REPEAT key and cycling through the display. The audio for voice is great and the mid/upper frequencies. For bottom/low end, no “boom” here. I tested three tracks that I know that have a lot of bottom end and none was present. There is five preset EQ (equalizer) settings. I found the ROCK setting to my ears worked the best for music, podcasts and my old time radio shows.FM reception works great at my location without even having to extend the antennae. The unit is feather light, easy enough to carry around portable with battery power. All in all, a decent “box” for just having around. If you need to see artist or song title while the track is playing via CD/USB this unit is not for you nor is there a search function or clock.

The Portable CD Player boombox is versatile and stylish music player that offers range of features. It includes top loading CD player, FM radio, Bluetooth connectivity, USB MP3 playback and AUX support. It is perfect for home and on the go listening and the remote control adds extra convenience. The sound quality is decent with five EQ modes to adjust music to liking and the ability to save up to 30 FM presets is a nice touch. However, it only supports FM radio leaving out AM stations. Also, the Bluetooth range could be slightly better for uninterrupted streaming. And it requires 4 C batteries not included which is a bit of a hassle for portable use. Overall, a compact and multi functional boombox with some limitations.
