I liked the look of this mute so ordered it online as in my move abroad, my mutes must have been forgotten or misplaced. I haven't had much chances to try them out, but it sounds good and looks good, nice and light and fits well in the bell of my trumpet.

Sound excellent with and without the stem in it. Only problem is it falls out really easily so I have to hold it in the whole time. I've bought the adjustable cup mute from the same brand as well and that fit fine, so I'm not sure why this one doesn't.The build quality seems great though and it's very light.

I've got five other mutes, including my Yamaha Silent Brass, and I now only use one mute, this oneadjustable mute. It really does produce several different sounds. My favourite tone is with the straightpiece only in use. The sound is a nice flat tone that I have been trying to get for years using various other mutes.I can't see any more expensive adjustable mutes being better than this so looks like I'll be sticking with this one for a while. Now I've just got to find one for my flugelhorn.

It is not as quiet as I expected, but definitely quieter than without! No problem with "back pressure" so playing is still easy. Trumpet still sounds like a trumpet, with slightly different tone.

I bought a while ago because of nice reviews and high review rating. But I don't really like that and I don't use that much because of the huge back pressure and problem with pitch.Now I'm looking to buy a different mute.In the end it ends up as usual, you want to save some money but you spend more because you need a better itemPros:- quiet- cheap- lightweight- compactCons:- difficult to play- enormous back pressure- pitch issues

It's a practice mute, meant to mute and it does just that. Although it claims to preserve tone and tuning, it sharpens notes, especially in the upper register.Tone is alright: it gives it a bit of a more strained/ forced tone, but that's probably expected of a practice mute anyways.Overall, for what it's worth, it's decent, and it works. But if you're looking for a high quality practice mute get a Wick mute

I've never had a practice trumpet before, but this thing is great! It's sooooo quiet, but you can hear what you're playing in your own head. There wasn't as much push-back as I was expecting, so that was an added bonus. This is probably the best bang for your buck for a practice mute, highly recommended (especially if you live in an apartment)!

I wasn't familiar with Protec before I purchased this mute. I live in an apartment and wanted to be able to play without bothering all the neighbours. It works perfect for that purpose and sounds really nice. Great quality for the price.
