I think because it’s a tight fit when you’re screwed on it doesn’t give much give when you wearing a helmet and will hurt your ears when you take it off

As long as you order the right mask for the right helmet, it's pretty fool proof. There aren't any instructions, but holes in mask line up with holes in helmet them screws go in holes.

Perfect fit. The holes lined up exactly. Comes with the 4 screws. Just make 100% sure the helmet is a Rawlings R16 Senior size. Take your time to make sure.This is a solid metal faceguard so if you see some discounted ones in the Amazon Warehouse for half off definitely go for it.My son just started Little League this month. Second game in, a kid gets hit in the head with a pitch making this sickening thunk sound. The "pitcher" was throwing balls fast and hard with ZERO CONTROL. A hit in the shoulder, arm, leg, back, is part of the game. Rub it, walk it off. A hit in the face is life changing. I ordered this faceguard the moment we got home.

Fits perfectly on my son's Rawlings Velo Senior Batting Helmet. I love the matte finish, as it matches his helmet's finish. I've seen a lot of poor reviews from buyers claiming the faceguard they've purchase doesn't fit their kid's helmet. Rawlings makes two different sized youth helmets - the Junior and the Senior. Make sure when you're buying the faceguard that you confirm it matches the type of helmet you have and that should resolve your problem. Additionally, make sure that the faceguard is rated for the sport your kid is playing. A softball faceguard, for example, will not adequately protect your kid from baseballs. This particular faceguard is rated for both softball and baseball.

holes didn't line up exact but there was some confusion in the original posted information so I wasn't sure if it would anyway.Took a gamble and it works but I had to drill the bottom hole a little to make it fit right.
