I have a baofen walker talkie for concert stage management. It is good but a bit bulky. I then find this light simple walkie talkie. I was dubious as some reviewers said it has no signal indoor. I used it for a rehearsal in a large theatre today (1000 seats). I was on the stage side and another was at the audio/video control site which is at the back of the audience. The signal was good and it never dropped. I recommend it.Update: yesterday I used it for the 2nd rehearsal and a full concert to communicate with each related staff. It ran for 8 hours, the battery stayed strong and there was no signal drop.

These are well made and inexpensive. They communicate with the ones at my job site without hassle. No more chasing around for a radio at work only to find a dead battery. :-)

As advertised.Handy short distance radios, that work great for connecting workforce. Bought for personnel on work site, to connect the office staff to yard personnel in Oilfield sale and storage.Worked within the farthest corner of our 20 acre lot, to our main office. To connect yard manager to lead hand. In the time of use, both would within the yard in different machines organizing equipment from the Oilfield. In search of items, would aid with communication in placement of items to a computer grid system, in clear communication. Also at times, would increase the enjoyment of being great friends as co-workers. I kid you not, these radios were able to communicate the clearest farts over radios waves to surprise either one of us. That usually ended with both radios chattering farts back and forth. The battery life is really good, and units let you know when to change the battery. It comes over the radio, spoken from a Chinese man "Preweese ChAnng Batterwrew".Also, 16 different channels to play hide and seak on. Also ups the enjoyment factor of the day.

I've been using the RT-22 for the last 2 weeks on a daily basis around the house and I love it.The sound is clear and LOUD, the radio is easy to operate. No fancy feature just a 2-ways radio that works well for daily use.Usage:Originally I said, to screen ???That's ok, you just turn the volume/on/off knob and the radio says "Channel X".Press the "+" or "-" to change the channel and turn the knob to adjust the volume. When the batteries are low, the radio says ''Batterie Low''.Dimension and weight:In a picture, I was worried the radio was to small, and finally, it's perfect, the fit in my hand is perfect and the Push To Talk (PTT) is easy to reach. The weight, take 5 AA batteries and that's the weight of this little radio including the belt clip. I was carrying the radio all day long while building my shed and it never bordered me.Range:Retevis is honest with the range, they says 0.3 to 1 km.I'm in the country (forest....middle of nowhere) and I got 0.3 km, which for me it's ok as I want to use it around the house or to talk between to car that follows each other.Extra/Nice touch: The radios come with an earpiece to use the radio like a secret agent :)You can recharge the radio with USB cable (provided), I love that, it's so easy to recharge all toys around the house with 1 cable.Negative:The VOX (hands-free) feature is not always consistent and you have to talk pretty loud to have it working.Support:I had to contact the client support service for a question on how to activate the VOX (I need the cable C9018A to activate it in the programming software. Once activated in the software. Put the radio on channel 7, turn it Off, hold the ''+'' and turn the radio on)The support service is simply amazing, you can judge a company by their client service and Retevis scores a 10 out of 10. I always got an answer within 24h with helpful answers and Angela was really good at helping me.Conclusion:If you need a small and lightweight radio to use around the house, don't think twice just buy the RT22. You get 2 amazing 2 ways radio (with earpieces) that worth every penny and at this price (50$ cdn for the pair) that's probably the best radio you'll get.

Okay, I gave this a three star rating because the radios themselves are really good, long distance (6 blocks from my house!) talk, really good hand-held speaker, great for me going down the street and keeping in touch with hubby. However, going in to buildings you totally lose signal (not a big deal, really), but the most significant things I can say that take away the other two stars are that the enclosed manual is crap and the head set included with them ~barely~ works and I won't be using them. But I guess that's why we have the Baofeng radios, those are for true emergencies and communication. I use this to keep in touch while I am outside and won't disturb any emergency channels. Oh, and one other reason why it kept at least the three-star rating, I can charge them using my external power bank with their included cord! It attaches to the radio and the USB attaches to my charger, so that is a positive!!! It also comes with a plug that has two USB ports to use in the wall for charging, as well...
