Your cart is empty.Revell Germany 04901 DHC-6 Twin Otter Kit. Revell has been entertaining, inspiring, and educating model builders for over 70 years. Revell brand is a testament to the popularity of detailed plastic model kits that are affordably priced. Launched in 1943, Revell initially produced a wide range of products, including train sets, scale buildings and “action pull toys” recreating some of America’s most popular automobiles. However, the brand found its niche with a line of fast-building “Highway Pioneers” plastic model car kits in the early 1950s. Very pleased. Not easy to find this model.The company could make the pontoon braces easier toninstall by providing holes rather than indents in the cast.

Leuk model om weer te beginnen na tal van jaren. Was vroeger heel fervente modelbouwer; pvc. houten & metalen modellen, ook vliegende en varende modelbouw doch plaatsen waar je deze kan en mag besturen zijn steeds schaarser in België zonder vrij ver autorijden (milieu bewuster geworden) en liever geen mogelij-ke hinder bezorgen aan (lastige) buren.Vriendelijke groet,Eddy Michiels, België.

This is the only 1/72 scale model kit of the the Twin Otter. It was originally released by Matchbox in the early 1980s and the tooling has been used by various kit manufacturers since the demise of Matchbox. I have built several and despite it's age it is still a good kit.The interior consists of a reasonable representation of the cockpit; the passenger cabin is just an empty space, but not much would be seen through the cabin windows anyway. Wheels, skis and floats are included as well a 2 different noses, allowing just about any Twin Otter to be built. The decal sheet has markings for Canadian Armed Forces & West Coast Air aircraft and includes the instrument panels.The kit has a few inaccuracies, most notably the cockpit windshield which is represented narrower in width than it should be, but this does not detract too much from the overall kit, which certainly looks like a Twin Otter. After market decals are available for both civilian and military operators.Il s'agit du seul kit de modèle à l'échelle 1/72 du Twin Otter. Il a été initialement publié par Matchbox au début des années 1980 et l'outillage a été utilisé par divers fabricants de kits depuis la disparition de Matchbox. J'en ai construit plusieurs et malgré son âge c'est toujours un bon kit.L'intérieur se compose d'une représentation raisonnable de l'habitacle ; la cabine des passagers n'est qu'un espace vide, mais on ne verrait pas grand-chose à travers les fenêtres de la cabine de toute façon. Les roues, les skis et les flotteurs sont inclus ainsi que 2 nez différents, permettant de construire à peu près n'importe quel Twin Otter. La feuille de décalcomanies comporte des marquages pour les aéronefs des Forces armées canadiennes et de West Coast Air et comprend les tableaux de bord.Le kit comporte quelques imprécisions, notamment le pare-brise du cockpit qui est représenté plus étroit en largeur qu'il ne devrait l'être, mais cela n'enlève rien à l'ensemble du kit, qui ressemble certainement à un Twin Otter. Des décalcomanies après-vente sont disponibles pour les opérateurs civils et militaires.

Haven`t built a model plane in quite a number of years but this was a pleasure to build. Pieces fit together well and the instructions were very clear. Great price compared to some of the other model planes if seen listed here and elsewhere.

The kit gives you the option of wheels, skis or floats but doesnt say so in the Amazon description. Well moulded kit but its not an easy kit if you decide on the floats ( which i did) but well worth the effort as the end product looks great. Not much overflash on the molding trees either. Nice kit but take your time and you will be rewarded. It comes with decals for the West Coast Air seaplane twin otter that flies out of my home of Vancouver, BC. which is really neat!

O modelo é grande e bonito. Apresenta 3 opções básicas de configuração (hidroavião, nariz comprido, equipamento para pouso na neve). Apenas algumas coisas devem ser levadas em conta: a configuração dele parece não ser muito equilibrada. Na minha montagem, o modelo fica caindo para trás, porque tem a cauda muito pesada. Quem for comprar, coloque uma porca ou outro peso bem preso na cavidade do nariz para fornecer um contrapeso extra na parte dianteira - como não usei a configuração hidroavião, não saberia dizer se vai ficar mais equilibrado com os flutuadores do que ficou com as rodas. A pintura é complicada, sobretudo se feita com pincel. Recomendo comprar se tiver paciência para pinturas mais elaboradas. Os decalques são numerosos, mas produzem um efeito final muito realista.
