Rico Reeds often get a bad reputation, but I think that is because they are thinking of the beginner (orange box) reeds. Rico Royals are filed and have a much better sound. Don't discount Rico, they have so many great selections: La Voz, Mitchell Lurie, Plasticover, Rico Reserve, Grand Concert Select, etc. Also, you get WAY more good reeds in a box than you do with "certain" other popular brands.

They do their jobs very well, and didn't split right away like the one that came with the clarinet. I'm very happy with this purchase.
