I can't camp the way I used to. I now value a comfortable mattress, whether air-inflatable or foam, when I am camping. There is always a trade off between the size of the product and the comfort level. Air inflatables pack down the smallest, but are a pain to inflate and deflate, and don't forget that you also have to deflate it at the end of the night. This self-inflating foam mattress offers a nice size and thickness and at a reasonable "cost" when it comes to packed storage size and setup time.It arrives packed down to the size of a small sleeping bag. Pop open the inflation valves (friction fit, so no threads to deal with) and the first time you do this, let it sit for a few hours to fully self inflate. The storage bag acts as a bellows pump which is a nice feature, it means you don't need to worry about an added pump or batteries, or foot pumping. Just gulp up some air and push it in through the nozzle.I am a big and heavy guy so I will always value a larger, thicker mattress. At 77" tall and 29" wide, it's big enough for me to sleep on my side, and the thickness is OK even when I tried it on a hard floor surface. Add a sleeping bag and it'll be even nicer. I like the vertical straight sides. I find that mattresses that taper off on the sides, you roll off the sides so it reduces the effective area you can sleep on.Packing up is easy. I open the valve, and start rolling from the opposite side, using my knees and body weight to press air out of the mattress. A minute later and I'm all packed up inside the bag, which has dry-bag style clasps on the end and a shoulder strap. A repair kit is also tucked away in a flap inside the bag.Convenient and comfortable.

The memory foam makes a big difference—it feels more like a mattress than a typical air pad. The 4-inch thickness provides great insulation from the cold ground, and I was able to sleep soundly even when the temperatures dropped a bit overnight. The self-inflating feature is a huge plus. I didn’t have to worry about blowing it up manually, and the pump sack makes it even easier to adjust the firmness. It’s quick to inflate, but I did find that it takes a bit longer to deflate and pack it back up. Not a deal-breaker, but worth mentioning if you’re in a hurry. That said, it’s not without its downsides. The size is a bit bulky for a camping pad—it doesn’t roll up as compactly as I expected, so it takes up a bit more space in my bag or car than I’d like. It’s great for car camping or van trips, but it might be a bit too much if you're backpacking and trying to save space and weight. Also, while the foam is comfortable, I did notice some slight air leakage after a few nights of use. It wasn’t major, but I had to top it off a little bit each morning to keep it at its optimal firmness.

The Rilextec 4" Thick Self-Inflating Camping Pad with Memory Foam, Insulation & Pump Sack Sleeping Mat, Portable Camping Mat for Tent, Car, Truck or Van, 4 Season Camp Air Mattress (Green)is very comfortable to sleep on. The pad is about 4" high and the memory foam holds your body weight well and conforms to the contours. It really does self inflate but I find it does need that little bit of extra air to be just right, luckily the carry bag doubles as an inflator and works great. To deflate, turn the one way valve around and roll the pad up and as you do so the air will be expelled and won't be able to creep back in thanks to the valve. Very well thought out.I will say that if you do have a small portable air pump it does make inflation and deflation much easier, but if you don't have one no problem, setup and take down will just take a bit longer.I'm not sure if this is obvious or not so I'm going to say it, even deflated and rolled up this isn't a back pack friendly sleep pad like the air only kind, this is much more for camping when you can transport it in your vehicle.Included in a very convenient pocket in the carry bag are a couple of repair patches and glue, very nice bonus! The only reason I removed a star is because there are a couple of stains on the mattress. I think perhaps the glue they use I'm not sure, doesn't affect the experience at all just not so nice to look at.Overall, a very comfortable sleep pad and much preferred to the air only kind.Competitively priced at ~$130 with a $20 potential coupon discount at the time of this review.

I would rate this product higher as it appears to be good quality in many ways, however after several times of inflating and deflating and re-inflating it will not inflate on one entire side. It is lop sided even with a full inflation.
