Id always hate putting a rag or cloth on my chin rest, it would always fall off i really needed this and i love it. It stays there without the struggle of having to constantly adjust it and its really comfortable

My new Strad Pad is AWESOME!! it holds tight to the chinrest without slipping around at all and covers the whole thing without impeding the sound of the violin. It is comfortable for my chin and jaw and not too thick. The front of it also covers the metal bars that hold the chinrest in place and that helps keep them from digging into my neck. Love it!! Bought one for my old violin and liked it so much had to buy another for my newer violin!!

I thought that this Strad Pad was supposed to give comfort to holding my violin but in fact it did the exact opposite. For the first 10 minutes of practicing with it on, I had to keep adjusting my shoulder rest to try to make it more comfortable. I ended up taking it off as it is more comfortable to play without it. I am very disappointed as this was extremely expensive for what it is worth. I wish I could get a refund for it..

I don't know why I waited so long to buy this. I have been playing the violin every day for 15 years, and I always struggled with the "violin hickey". It was uncomfortable and slightly embarrassing every time someone noticed it. This pad has helped immensely. It makes the chinrest so much more squishy! It took about a week to get used to. It's fantastic for the comfort level. And it has diminished the mark on my neck quite a bit.The only concern I have is that it seems to be breaking down a little faster than I expected. I don't wear a lot of foundation, just powder, and it doesn't show up on the black. But the black has faded a bit and lost it's smoothness. It was very easy to put on. I don't know how it will be replacing it, if it's changed the color of my chinrest underneath or not. But, I don't really care because this will be a permanent tool for me now. I plan on replacing it once a year. Recommended for all who want to replace their hankies or towels that don't look nice.

I love this chin rest cover. My chin rest is really uncomfortable and doesn't fit me right (but I'm too lazy and lack the funds to buy one that fits correctly). So, I bought this instead. It attaches with velcro, so you CAN remove it, but that would include removing the velcro as well (which can get sticky, and I don't recommend it unless you're not going to use that piece again). I originally had the lighter beige one, but it looked tacky with my violin, so I got the black as well.LADIES! If you wear makeup on a regular basis (or at least to concerts), you will find that this pad gets filthy. I was semi-shocked to find it covered in my makeup. It attracts mineral powder like the plague. I think you can clean it with an alcohol pad, but I would imagine the latex would get cracked and dry. So, either have a separate pad for concerts (if you'll be photographed up close), or just put up with it. I put up with it, but that's because I'm lazypants.Totally recommend it, but I had to take one star away for the makeup thing. It's comfortable, soft, and I've actually lost a bit of my callus on my jaw from using it. Two thumbs up!
