Bought a few bags of this and the sun and shade mix. Fresh top soil, watered daily, this one grew super strong and thick, then bam started browning and drying out in huge patches. I had run out of the sun mix in my sunny area and had finished it with the sun/shade mix (blue bag, same brand), that section is great and doing well. Any where I used the sun mix I had very poor results, I bought my first few bags of quick and thick sun/shade last year and was so impressed I figured I'd try the sun mix this year in an area that's full sun. Did not go well, however even the sun/shade mix in that area is still thriving.

This seed really goes fast!!!In hot weather I only sprayed it down and soaked it once a day and grass was up at 6 days.Within 2 weeks it was pretty thick and lush.I had spread topsoil and sowed the seed on it. Seed put down on 'bare' old soil did not have as great a success rate though it did sprout. A little topsoil is really a huge difference, naturally.I have and will continue to buy this seed again - both the sun variety and the sun/shade one.

This seed has fertilizer in with it and boy, can you see the difference. The seed does not sprout super quickly, but can be seen within about ten days. It comes up healthy and strong. All the grass around it benefits from the fertilizer too. My grass looks the best is has all year. (It's fall now.) I've purchased 3 bags of it so far and will probably order more next spring.
