First of I could not be happier with this purchase, as others have mentioned the quality is surprising for the price of the stand. Assembly was quick and easy, everything is metal, no cheap plastic you have to worry about cracking. The stand itself is very stable and it doesn't get wobbly when I put my music books on it, and it breaks down to go into the bag, which isn't the highest quality, but it's still a niece roomy bag. The lights require 3 AAA batteries and while they each have 2 settings, even the lowest setting lights everything up. If you were looking to save battery power, you could easily just use 1 of the lights.I definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a music stand. All of that being said, I did make a couple modifications that I would like to mention.First, As you can see in the pictures I added a Violin holder (works fine for viola's as well) so I can just hang my viola & bow securely right on the stand, this way everything is together when I sit to play. You can purchase the hanger here on amazon for about $15.00. If you do this, position it so it holds the viola/violin over one of the legs so the weight doesn't make it want to tip forward, it really is very stable this way. The camera holder is attached, but off to the side and out of the way, if I need it, I just loosen it, swing it around front and re-tighten it.Also, as the picture shows, to save money on batteries, I used velcro to attach a small portable phone charger I had in a drawer to the back and used the cord that came with lights to plug into it. This will outlast any batteries I could buy and is easily recharged when it gets low. The lights are small and LED, so I shouldn't have to recharge it for some time.The last thing I recommend is this, if you are going to record yourself, buy a "phone camera remote" from Amazon, they're less than $10.00 and make starting and stopping the recording much easier.

Works as expected however I don't think it worth the price, can definitely hold instrucment but can't be too heavy.
