Based on the photographs and build quality I'd say this is pretty much a perfect duplicate of the Schley Tools parking brake cable remover which shares the same part number. This is a very large, very sturdy pair of specialty pliers. Nice rubberized grips, although they could stand to be glued on the inside as they slide off quite easily (pet peeve of mine on a lot of pliers). The price for what you're getting here is outstanding, as they Schley product is double or more the cost of this one. Definitely a tool you won't be using often unless you're replacing parking brake cables all day long, and it's something you can certainly make do without if you don't want to spend the money. I was a mechanic for a long time and never needed one, but that's not to say it wouldn't have made my life easier. So it's kind of a luxury tool, but for this price it's justifiable.

As a professional automotive technician in rusty ole' Michigan, parking brake cable replacement is a dreaded procedure. This tool makes things much easier. Getting the old cables out of the connectors can be a chore but this sturdy set of pliers works with ease. The pliers are heavy duty and very strong. The steel is coated and the handles are rubber padded. They are designed to remove and install the cables into the connectors. They work flawless and is well worth the purchase. 5 stars for quality and value.
