  • This model is anti-reverse diode MD 110A-16; to prevent backfeed ;Also called blocking diode ;Peak voltage 1600V;AC < 400VAC ;DC 3-1000VDC
  • Because it is commonly used in solar energy and photovoltaic power generation, and is often paired with solar cells and solar panels, some customers might refer to it as a "solar diode."
  • Using four diodes together can act as a rectifier bridge;Also known as a high current diode, if you need a higher current, please contact us
  • Resistive load MAX=50A;The load bearing capacity depends on the use environment, the higher the temperature, the worse the effect;
  • Sold by: Leichi; the brand is LCLCTC. If you purchase an item from a different brand, please report the discrepancy between the product and the images to Amazon.

I installed this 50amp rated diode in my solar system which has a maximum amperage of about 30. It does stop back-flow of current. However, it gets very hot at far below the rated amperage. With 22 amps flowing, I measured 170 degrees F, which is much too hot to touch. Too hot to touch at anything over 10 amps. I would not want to test what 50 amps would do. I have ordered a 250 amp version and hope that will solve the over-heating issue.

Looks solid, add a heat sink if your putting out high current, perfect for me

Does it's job, was a bit confusing at first but now I'm using them to separate charge. I'm a newbie to solar

This high current rated, isolating diode assembly works well with higher output solar panels. It will however, begin to over heat (when the load draws more than 10 or 20 amperes) if it is not properly heat sunk. I used an old aluminum power supply heat sink (along with some heat sink thermal compound) to significantly improve the diode's operating temperature range and thereby, its operating current carrying capacity. (See the attached photo). Mounting it to a simple aluminum or steel plate should also work well as a heat sink. I would suggest using some type of heat transfer compound (such as Wakefield Thermal Compound - Part Number 120-2) to improve the heat transfer characteristics.

4 stars because its a little bit on the expensive side, but otherwise works well and I like the way it mounts. Using to prevent back feed of capacitors from 700w 12v inverter to my noco onboard charger causing voltage spikes that would set off high voltage alarm on the charger, would buy again.

This is a really large diode, which lets DC voltage flow in only one direction. You don't strictly need one in a solar panel system, but they are helpful to prevent any backfeed and to add another measure of safety. It should prevent any battery discharge at night when the battery has a higher potential than the solar panel, although a lot of charge controllers perform that function as well.This isn't exactly a budget item, but I was willing to order it to follow best practices in building my little solar panel system. It's good quality and comes ready to bolt to a heat sink. The included terminals are strong and up to the task, and I liked that you can drive them really snug with a nut driver instead of only with a phillips screwdriver. The diode is doing its job, and I'm satisifed with it.
