First near HiFi wireless Headphones for me, they do sound good powered from my phone via Bluetooth. The noise cancelling work wells, some say you can get better. I wore these on the Piccadilly underground in London just to protect my ears from the squeeling noise, it worked well even without music or a podcast playing. The handy app on the phone is good also. BTRange is good battery life very good. Now the downside, as most new electronic gadgets have small buttons to switch on/off, find press and hold ........ Hold keep holding off or on, why can't we have a switch instead of a press and hold button?I find the ear muffs a bit too small. The head band does flop about a bit and can move. Not too heavyI don't like the button press sounds, bit annoying.Music is very good sound quality, I like that, bass maybe not too deep, I can hear the depth of the music, like I said near very good hifi sound.Buy them if you walk around in public and enjoy your music to a high quality with good noise cancelling. The best part is the price really good value. Now who wants mega expensive headphones whilst out and about in dodgy areas that they could be easily snatched and nicked?Phone calls are very good, no one has complained yet, so good for chatting.Buy them, look out for Amazon special offers, or maybe buy two.ThenSave your money on these to buy some really expensive wired hifi ones for late night listening at home through a decent amp, forget MP3, listen to CD or hi res streamed music. These work really well you won't be disappointed.

These are a great set of headphones! The quality and extra features are worth the higher price for sure.I use these for work so I can switch between the transparency and noise suppression modes very easily. The sound quality is great, though you should test the different settings to find which is best for you.The mic works amazing, making it so much easier to do other things while talking to someone. I've been told sometimes it sounds a bit hollow, but that's likely just a matter of how they were sitting. They're quick to connect to Bluetooth, and I can swap between my phone, PC, and laptop easily. The only downside is one that's more a personal issue, but I wanted to mention it for others who might be in the same boat - I have a very small head, basically kid's size, so even on the smallest setting they are still a touch too big. It's enough that I can wear them over my ears comfortably, but are still loose and will slide off if I bend down. Not at all a criticism of the product quality though! The app isn't the greatest though, not that you really need to use it. It has more specific/manual sound controls, but it's not helpful unless you really understand all that. I wish they would put different style settings in there to choose from, but you can also just cycle through those on the headphones themselves.

[packaging]Basic packaging. When you open the box, you are immediately presented with the case and manual.[inside content]Comes with a nice round-shaped case. The headphones and cables are inside of the case. They give you a pouch for putting in the charging and aux cable. I would have preferred if there was a dedicated compartment for putting in the cables. Also, it's a bit awkward to put the headphones into the case, because you have to have the right earphone on the left side and the left earphone on the right side while the left earphone is folded, and both earphones have to be faced side down. You'll just have to memorize the orientation when putting them inside the case every time.[material/build]Headphones is mostly plastic material. Don't expect too much from sub-100 dollar headphones. The size adjustment is metallic. I think they are very comfortable to wear. I've heard about issues on build quality where the plastic hinges near the size adjustments would crack. But I've only had mine for less than two months so I can't comment on that yet.[buttons/controls]On/off, volume, and play/pause buttons are physical buttons. But I think ANC mode switching is touch control.[wired mode]As for wired/aux mode, I'm unsure if EQ and ANC will work with wired mode since I haven't tested it, so I can't comment on it. As far as I'm concerned, I will never be using these headphones in wired mode unless I absolutely have to.[Soundcore app and custom EQ]The Soundcore app makes it super easy to adjust EQ. EQ adjusting is responsive and doesn't lag for a long time like some other apps. Your EQ is saved in your headphones (tested with two separate devices; these headphones can pair with older Android from 2016). But you can also make a Soundcore account to save your EQ settings online. One downside of the app is that you can't adjust EQ while your headphones aren't connected, nor can you see your EQ settings. This becomes a nuisance for when you want to take a screenshot of your EQ settings to share with people who have the same headphones. There are also no horizontal line markings in the EQ setting, not even for 0 dB.Sound quality massively improves with EQ adjustment (I will update review later with a picture of the EQ, if possible). In the default setting, it doesn't sound so good. There are also EQ presets for you to try, but I prefer to use custom EQ. After adjusting EQ, I think the sound quality is great and will probably beat many popular BT headphones that cost more than this (I got it on sale for 74.99 CAD not including tax). The app also has a feature for playing various ambient sounds to potentially help you relax or sleep, or just set a certain mood for whatever takes your fancy. It's similar to the old iOS apps from the early 2010s that does the same sort of thing.[battery life]Battery life seems pretty good. But I tend to not use them for too long in one session.[sound issue (fixed)]I did encounter an issue where there would be a crackle sound (not too serious) in the left ear cup when I shake my head during ANC mode. It sounds like it's coming from the plastic, but I only hear it when ANC is on. This problem is fixed when I sent it back to Amazon and bought another one. The first one I bought was 89.99 CAD. When it went on sale for 74.99 CAD about 2-3 weeks later, I figured I'd just return my old pair, buy a new pair, and see if the problem would go away.[ANC (active noise cancellation)]ANC is good enough for me. I don't have a second pair of BT headphones to compare ANC performance to.With ANC turned off, the ambient sound becomes a bit annoying like a hollowed out sound. I always have the ANC on for that reason. I might have returned these headphones if I intended to use the headphones often with ANC off.[conclusion]Overall I'm very satisfied with these headphones. They sound great for music and movies. I would recommend them, as long as you plan on using custom EQ and ANC.

Update after 2 years: The headband has cracked on both sides - one side cracked after about a year just above the earphone connection point - and just recently I noticed the right side wasn't sounding as good, holding to more to my ear helped - that is when I noticed it was cracked so wasn't pushing the cup on as well as it used to. Wrapping some tape around both sides has helped, but that is a weakness for these for sure. I don't abuse them - only worn at my desk, or standing while working at a nearby workbench. Always placed down - never thrown.I hope that their higher end models have a more durable headband, or that they could improve the plastic in the Q30 model. They are very good headphones for the price range, I keep the overall rating of 4 stars despite the physical issue I've run into.I even bought my mother a pair - although she doesn't use them frequently, they work well. For the price (in the $100 CAD range), these are amazing. The noise cancelling is second only to headphones in the $300+ range. I have tested a few others in the $100 & $200 range as well as the big 2 in the $350 price that everything else gets compared against. The sound is very good for the price range - there are better sounding headphones, but most will cost much more. Having ability to adjust the EQ helps for sure. It can be bass heavy. The build quality is good - they look and feel like higher end headphones.I've been using them for several days now in a semi-noisy environment, the difference is pretty amazing - it doesn't eliminate all sound, but most things especially constant sounds of things like building air handling (furnace or air conditioning type) are pretty much eliminated. You might hear that someone is talking, but it's very quiet, and can't make out the words without changing the headphones to transparency mode. The multi-point Bluetooth works fairly well - can have it paired with 2 devices - in my case phone and computer - and it switches fairly well between them - I wish it allowed blending of the sound from both devices, but from what I'm reading multi-point bluetooth doesn't do that. The Microphone seems to work well - I haven't done a recording with it yet to hear for myself, but I've been on several voice and video calls, and the other people had no problems in hearing what I was saying.I've purchased wired headphones in the $100 range that didn't sound as good, nor feel as comfortable from several major brands. I do still prefer the MDR-7506 for it's neutral sound - but those are just wired, no mic or anything else that these SoundCore Q30 have.I have run into a few minor issues - these could be bugs with the computer or phone, but I can't rule out the headphones - update: both issues I previously mentioned seem related to the computer hardware or OS. 1) Sometimes the audio can become choppy after that it frequently fully drops - this is usually when other bluetooth is used with the same computer - a 2018 Mac mini. 2) Volume levels varying was fixed with an OS update at some point after I posted the original review - now it's only noticed when the bluetooth has dropped, and I reconnect the headphones - the audio will be lower than it should be until I adjust the volume slightly, then it will correct and I can return it to the original volume level.I have no issues with creaking others have mentioned.
