Fun to play bass.Fit and finish weren’t perfect, but I’m happy with my purchase.Wanted shorter scale since I’m a beginner. Will purchase new strings soon. For now, just having fun.Note*You WILL have to make adjustments before you can play it. Bridge and truss rod especially.

This bass feels amazing… I might upgrade pickup, but other than that it’s great out of the box. Minimal setup required. I have a fender jazz bass and this mustang feels and plays just as great. I’ll definitely keep this one.

Package arrived in what looked to be good condition aside from the fact that you could tell it had been opened and re taped. After unpacking the Bass, I noticed a crack in the finish on the front face of the guitar. Shame on you Quality Control at Fender.

Purchased Squires in the past and was ho-hum about them. Bought this simply to lay tracks on my DAW but will use this on stage! I am 6’2” and it looks and feel comfortable. Love the green also! Btw the strings are good but should go with flat wound.

I purchased this Squier Mustang Bass as a backup for my Fender JMJ Mustang bass. I am absolutely blown away by the quality , sound and playability of this Squier Cv Mustang bass. I was surprised how close the tone of this bass is to my Fender JMJ bass ( which retails for $1,200 more). The Squier CV Mustang is an excellent instrument, has a slightly narrower neck at 1.5 inches at the nut, compared to vintage Mustangs. Much the same as a jazz bass neck width. The neck shape is a comfortable thin c shape. I would not hesitate to bring this bass to a gig. It’s a capable bass, and has a lot of vintage features such as string thru bridge, and vintage sized pickups which makes pickup upgrades easy, although you may not want to do an upgrade because the stock Squier pickups are quite good. The finish is flawless, and the fretwork is excellent my bass weighs in at approx 8 lbs and is well balanced. Players of standard scale basses will need to get used to the shorter scale but I suggest to give it a chance and you will rewarded. Highly recommended.

This bass is better built than my Fender 60th anniversary roadworn jazz, which cost more than 3 times as much. It's a great bass with a distinct sound and accurate look for the period. Squier is killing it with this line.

I’ve had this bass for 2 months now and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The quality of construction is impressive for such an inexpensive bass. I have owned other Squier basses and the Mustang is by far the best of the lot. The design is a very close match to the original 1964 model. The neck is extremely comfortable to play and the sting through body is an added bonus feature not often found on lower priced models such as Squiers. The pickup and tone controls are simple and straightforward making this bass easy to dial in a great tone. You can play anything on the Mustang and I find myself playing the Mustang more than my other (Leo designed) bass. The only thing I had to do was get it professionally set up, after that it was golden. At $399 it’s a steal and much better than the Mexican produced Mustang.I love playing this bass and highly recommend the Squier Classic vibe Mustang Bass.

I’ve played bass professionally with Grammy winning artists, and this Squire mustang was the best purchase I’ve made this year. First it’s a beautiful instrument. Well constructed out the box. A new set of flatwounds and boom, dialing in that classic fender punchy tone with ease. I use it on my weekly reggae/ska gig and it’s perfect. Short scale is easy on the hands. Great for beginners. It’s a well built bass. Love the way the strings go through the body. And it’s true to the 60s original. I dial in my tone very easy. I can shift from reggae to ska punk. To more soul and funk stuff. Easy to travel with here in NY. Cabs and Ubers and on the trains are pretty easy. Thinking now about the tele bass!
