Operation: For optimal power, ensure the panel is directly facing the sunlight. Clean the Solar Battery Charger MONTHLY, or more frequently to maintain peak efficiency. Check the battery is 12V and larger than 20Ah. If the battery capacity is 20Ah or greater, the charger will not overcharge the battery or cause any damage. If the battery capacity is smaller than 20Ah,a suitable charge controller will be required. Or,please don't continuous charging more than three days. The solar charger is a basic of trickle charger and it is best for slowly charging and maintaining battery charge.Please note that the charger is designed to top-up battery charge as a result of natural drainage. It is not intended to recharge a battery that has fully discharged. The charger can withstand splashing and water, but it should not be submerged in water.

The solar charger panel can be mounted to the windshield or mounted using the mounting holes and place the charger in the desired location in direct sunlight.
Note:Some vehicles have tinted windows that will seriously affect the performance of your charger if it is positioned behind them. For Optimum charging the unit should be placed outside the vehicle in direct sunlight!
Plug the solar charger into your vehicle's 12-volt lighter socket.
In some makes of vehicle, the cigarette lighter may not operate when the ignition is turned off.
Note:You must disconnect the charger from your cigarette lighter or battery when starting you engine or driving. Electrical surges from the car engine when starting and running may damage your charger.
The charger can be connected to the battery using the crocodile clips provided.
Note:Ensure the red cable is connected to the positive (+) and the black cable is connected to the negative (-). If in any doubt seek assistance from a competent person.
Do not leave the solar charger connected and unattended for long periods.

It was not enough to keep my battery charged compared to the parasitic drain. There's also no way to tell of it's charging, unlike other panels. Might work better where there is lots of sunlight, I don't know. It does seem sturdy and it's nice and compact.

Hap to leave my car in a long term lot while traveling for a month in Europe and Africa. This charger kept the battery up to easily start the car after sitting.

It lights on as soon as I unpacked it showing it's absorbing the sunlight and working. The only thing can earn one more star is that it should have provided a better solution for its securely anchored.

I bought this to keep my car battery topped up cause it doesn’t get driven much during the winter and the battery still went dead when I went to try to turn on the car .

After having my 4Runner's batter die a few times due to not driving regularly during the previous winter (was working from home), I bought this on the advice of my mechanic to look into a drip charger. I was unsure whether there would be strong enough sunlight through the following winter to work. There was, however, as I never had an issue with a dead battery since then. There was at least one time where a full week went by without me driving, but it still started right up. The cords are easy to install and plenty long enough to attach them to the battery terminals and run them under the hood, under the driver-side door, even with the panel on the dashboard on the passenger side.The only inconvenience is that you are supposed to unclip the clamps from the battery terminals before starting. That slows you down when you have to clean a good bit of snow off the hood to open it. But that is hardly the fault of the charger. I found it to a great value because it saved me at least one car battery replacement.
